We've been pretty skeptical of OnLive's many futuristic promises. From streaming every game ever to anything with a decent internet connection, to being able to end world hunger (okay, we made up that second one), it's kind of an enormous leap to be taking from our current standards. In an effort to keep us on our toes, the company just this week announced that not only can the service stream games to households, but also to cell phones. "Today, at a Wedbush financial conference in New York I showed OnLive running simultaneously on two iPhones, a TV, and a computer," said CEO Steve Perlman.
"It's important to understand that a cell phone is a very different beast than TV, PC or Mac ... currently, games on OnLive are tuned for TVs and computers, so initially, it's the Community and Social elements of OnLive that we're most excited about on mobile devices." OTOY has already proven that mobile gaming of this level can exist, but we're still not convinced anyone wants to play the full console/PC version of games on their phone. Impressive? Sure. Functional? That has yet to be seen.

No one else noticed they Photoshopped in "Joystiq" instead of AT&T next to the signal bars?

Hey, they were at a Wedbush conference! That means Pachter was there!
Maybe he'll tell us if it's a piece of shit or not.

Every "iPhone It In" segment uses the same thing, just slightly altered. As well as many other iPhone related posts.
I beleive they use a .PSD file that's made to look like the iPhone. I tried to find it on DeviantART, but couldn't find the exact one anywhere... there are just so many.
Either way, this is not new.

Whatever the heck happened to the release of this service anyway? They said it would be coming out Holiday 2009, and yet, we haven't heard very much at all about it and there's little to none promotion.

God, I know that Onlive can't work but part of me has a tiny glimmer of hope that it'll prove all the naysaying engineers, compuer scientists and web commentators wrong.

How about we get OnLive to work on computers and TVs before we start on phones? That would be nice.

Real gamers would buy an alienware, but most gamers waste money on console gaming ... learn your priorities

Real gamers would build their own PC...sorry.
Why is console gaming a 'waste of money'? Because it's convenient?

OnLive, putting lag it where you least expect it: single player games.

if this thing is able to stream all kinds of games ,where does that leave Sony & MS. this thing may not get thier games, but what's to keep the gaming house from just creating games for onlive only & forget the consoles. me personaly hope sony & ms are on thier toes with ideas on how to kill this thing before it even has a chance.that is if the internet speeds & bandwidth limitions don't kill it first. lets hope they have a plan.i like having two consoles, still like buying hard copies of games.

"Onlive" and "Works" shouldn't be in the same sentence. Ever.

Well I believe it can work. Microsoft has done the 1080p streaming of movies. My internet connection barely will work with youtube videos but when I clicked on a TV show on my Xbox 360 it starts within 5 seconds and doesn't stop to buffer during the TV Show. So this project is 100% possible. I am in the Preview Program and it is awesome. Glad everyone is going to get the chance to play with it on the 19th!

This all sounds pretty amazing, I look forward to seeing it actually happen.
If it does happen dam right people will want to play full games on their iPhone. If I have to go to work mid way through a mission or something, it would be awesome to just think - 'thats cool, ill finish it at work on my break.' Or even if you could just jump into some Halo style matchmaking while bored on a late shift working the till.
Since when did the size of the screen directly effect the level of enjoyment? It's not the size that matters right guys... it's the way you use it... right?... guys?
