With original Fallout IP holder Interplay currently embroiled in a legal battle with new Fallout IP holder Bethesda Softworks, it's no surprise that the most recently "leaked" images from Interplay's Project V13 are said to be from an "anonymous, but reliable" source. The Vault Wiki even goes as far as to claim that the images are directly from Interplay, saying "These screenshots were actually submitted by Interplay as court evidence to show that the game is in full production already."
Putting on our super sleuth detective caps, a Nuka-Cola billboard and the inclusion of a supermutant in these screens certainly confirms they are from some form of Fallout game. Big Download points out that these screens look awfully similar to concept art released by Interplay not too long ago. Without any solid confirmation from Interplay as to the origin of these screens though, we're gonna have to keep it filed strictly under the "rumor" category for now.

Looks good, I wonder how much Nuka Cola is paying Interplay for in-game advertisement.

I like the more cartoony look of these screens better than Fallout 3. I have to turn the brightness up to 75% in F3 if I want to see anything. Great game though.
Hope this comes out and turns out well, might play it if I don't get sucked in by The Old Republic and FFXIV.

Am I the only one who doesn't want this game? I mean, I think the game looks just fine and the gameplay will probably be just fine and it will be just another MMO. I rather have pure SP awesomeness than yet another WOW clone, and this time with a Fallout skin.

nobody wants MMOs but people still buy them. also MMO players seem a much more casual crowd, yeh they spend lots of time on it but alot of that time is spent just chatting and stuff.

@anti villain. Those are hardly your average players actually. Most players, even if they arent the super hardcore raiders that stay up late every night downing Sarth just for that epic bag, most people dont just sit around and chat and do nothing, even shitty players can run heroics with moderate success in WoW. Maybe you should actually think before making such baseless idiotic claims

I've made similar comments before about the Fallout MMO. I think it's a really poor fit in general for that genre. Part of the appeal of those games (for me) is the sense of lonliness and isolation of the wasteland, the occasional joy of finding a few humans trying to scrape out some life from the scraps of the older generation. Several hundred (or thousand) players running around would just muck up a beautiful world.

I agree with what you say. I think Bethesda has worked hard to achieve what we might call their flavor of gameplay. What they got on their hands is a successful thing , and here comes Interplay and its just going to mess with everything. This is a battle now and whoever releases the best title next should have the rights to the series. Maybe they should team up and give us two worthy games to play.

#1 - I did not enjoy Fallout 3. I was much more into the the Black Isle developed Fallout titles.
#2 - It looks like Interplay nailed the Fallout look. Granted, the ground textures look a bit weak, but these are early shots just to prove that the game does indeed exist in some state, so this is nowhere close to wait the final product would look like in terms of technical graphics. With that said, it's an MMO, thus it wouldn't look nearly as detailed as some other titles out there.

One thing I don't like about MMO's however is low res textures. I understand this is most likely necessary however considering that the PC's & servers would need to process all of these graphics.

This is Microsoft. They shuttered plans for a Halo MMO, aka "Print money forever!"...

I never understood the an/a grammar choice. Its more of a preference.
And, sad face, i'd love to buy this without having to update my video card.

I wouldn't be surprised if it was real, but my gut says this is fake.

Uhhh sorry but I'll stick with Fallout 3 and whatever Bethesda does next with the franchise. I'll even take the Obsidian one over this, and I don't even know anything about that game.

I'm more excited for the Obsidian one at the moment. I think it will be waaay better than the Bethesda one. We have former Black Isle developers working at Obsidian, so in a way Fallout has gone home again. It will clearly have the Bethesda gameplay elements, but I think this time we'll actually get a decent story out of it. And probably less bugs.

IMO I've had less enjoyment from Obsidian sequels (or whatever) than from the original companies (KotOR2, NWN2 spring to mind readily)

I'm the founder of the Fallout Wiki and I posted these images first. I realize that they might seem suspicious, but maybe you might be convinced by the fact that I also posted 4 pieces of concept art at The Vault yesterday, one of which was posted by Interplay itself only today in their forum.

It was alright. Too bad the story was almost non-existant. I think if Interplay worked on it we would have gotten a much better character/story driven RPG.
Sorry...fanboy.

I'm sorry, Discotheque, but do you remember *at all* what Interplay was like before they went under (and came back)? They were HORRIBLE. Their last couple Star Trek titles were mediocre at best and everything else was total shite.
Fallout 3 was a great game and I prefer the realistic look of it to this cartoony, weirdly colored screenshot.

I tried Fallout 3...but I just couldn't get into it. Didn't much like the combat system and interface.
I'm a little more curious about New Vegas, though. Obsidian is an interesting studio, to say the least.

New Vegas will essentially be the same according to the original post on kotaku earlier this year. But it will have it's own standalone story. I'm mainly interested in the fact Bethesda handed this off to Obsidian; perhaps because they're busy with Elder Scrolls V? Bethesda is pretty good at containing leaks, we'll hear about it 6-8 months before release.

I'm in that group of newbies that liked Fallout 3 more than Fallout 1 - 2... I guess I'm a sucker for graphics and gore. Or maybe it's cause I played FO3 before the others. Either way, I think this looks good for an early WIP. If the graphics are good and its combat system isn't click-and-sit, then I'll consider it.

Isn't there already a Fallout MMO? It's called Fallen Earth.
Side note: I'm trying to play Fallout1 for the first time right now. It's really hard to get into it... kill rats. visit village with nothing to do and nothing to buy. only gun breaks on 3rd rat. spend ages hitting radscorpions with a knife when they can kill you in 2 hits. What is there to do? I'm gonna check out vault 15...
