The latest of the previously announced Simlish music videos promoting the expansion Sims 3: World Adventures has been released. This time, it's Nelly Furtado's turn to try her hand at the nonsensical language, adapting her song "Manos al Aire." We've watched the video and, sure enough, we can't understand a word of it. Of course, the original song is in Spanish, so we couldn't understand it in the first place anyway.
But that's really all beside the point. What you should be focusing on is watching Nelly Furtado's Sim explore Egyptian tombs, doling out some kung-fu kicks and taking part in the longstanding tradition of obscure French film making.
Poor girl. They had her babble nonse that sounds like the song and publish that. Not so sad when you realize shes getting paid your whole year income for doing so.
she wasnt a child star at that time but in her early 20's but you know how fame works, when she became a nobody and forgotten she sold herself out to get back into it.
Sounds like she mostly changed beginning consonants and kept the vowels...
I can imagine she (or any of the producers) might have been a bit of a purist about how the song needs to sound as far as the melody-vowel relationships. and any big weird changes might have been frowned upon.

The problem is watching artists throwing out spanish versions for the sake of selling it to another target audience. ie: ven comigo baby by Christina Aguilera. You probably won't understand, because you're not portuguese.

"They had her babble nonse that sounds like the song..."
"nonse"? Is that simmish for "nonsense"?
Yatcho @ Nov 14th 2009 1:25AM
Even without the Simlish I would have no idea what the hell is going on in the video.
