Sounds like she mostly changed beginning consonants and kept the vowels...
I can imagine she (or any of the producers) might have been a bit of a purist about how the song needs to sound as far as the melody-vowel relationships. and any big weird changes might have been frowned upon.

The problem is watching artists throwing out spanish versions for the sake of selling it to another target audience. ie: ven comigo baby by Christina Aguilera.
