Weekly Webcomic Wrapup is becoming its own worst enemy

Yeah, that whole airport scene is pretty upsetting. You know what's even worse, though, as far as the corruption of the human spirit is concerned? Modern Warfare 2's online multiplayer. The cycle breaks down like this: You play against hateful people who call you brave new swear words as they wipe the floor with you, which in turn makes you more hateful -- repeat ad nauseam. This new hate can even extend beyond the confines of the game, and infect other portions of your life. For instance, it might even slip into a post you write for a video game news site, you freaking jerkfaces.

My 'fficial instructions: either boycott all things Fox News(Including other stuff owned by Fox/NewsCorp - MySpace, Photobucket, RottenTomatoes, IGN, Gamespy, Direct2Drive, etc) or destroy all sons-a-bitches at the top in NewsCorp.

Tough decision between 2P Start and BitF, but I chose 2P Start. Took me a few seconds to get it but it was hilarious.

They needed to make the bloody footprints a bit brighter.

one week slackerz makes me laugh. the next, they break my heart. If they change out the "z" for an "s," we'll call it even.

Decent week, I'm definitely gonna have to go with Virtual Shackles, though.

Fox News = cleverly and thoroughly shitted on. Thanks Virtual Shackles, that made me chuckle. It's rare that the old school nerd in me would pass up the Brawl In The Family or 2P Start ones from this week, but not only did you make fun of the most pathetic excuse for a "news" station I've ever heard of, *but* you managed to make it kinda funny. Props.

Fox News is easy, fun, and profitable to ridicule. Hell, look at The Daily Show.

To the Daily Show's credit, I saw the funniest clip a few weeks ago that ripped CNN a new one. It was this whole thing about how the anchors would always say "we're gonna leave it at that" right as we could of got some legitimate discussion going and got some answers. Just the way John and his writers set it up is pretty funny shit.

But yea, it's easy, fun, and profitable to make fun of Fox News because they bring it upon themselves. If they didn't intentionally get somebody from a game site called *Slash* Gamer who had no conversational articulation, then cut him off and barely let him speak, take an entire topic way out of context, and then make bullshit quotes like this, then nobody would have anything to get at them about.

Then they'd just be "Fox News: a reliable news source that happens to be conservative", not "Fox News: a group of conservative, racist, close minded, ignorant bigots who spew garbage to a group of like minded idiots who want to hear the same bullshit they believe in read back to them through the television."

good week. brawl edges out penny arcade for me.

The only one that was laugh-out-loud funny for me was Penny Arcade. It's the first time in a while that I've actually laughed at a webcomic, so that gets my vote.

My word, PA was absolutely terrible.

2P Start. They've been very good lately and this one was pretty funny.

2p start should have had a frame of Mario telling a penguin to put the lotion on it's skin or it gets the hose again. :P

I voted for PvP because the douchey youngster was drawn to look like the Ctrlaltdel artist Tim Buckley. And I also find myself complaining about the same things while sounding like an old man yelling at kids to get off his front lawn.

It wasn't in Buckley's typical expression though B^U

It's from silence of the lambs. A movie that has a serial killer who kidnaps women in order to make "women skin suits." Kind of like what Mario did in 2p start.

Yes, the Dragon Age one was much better than the newest one.

I just couldnt help but feel solidarity for what the player character is doing in the first panel

although I nearly voted for Penny Arcade because the title immediately made me think of Billy Idol's rebel yell

Wow. rollercoaster of emotions this week.

I thought that BitF was gonna get my vote, because this was the first time they were ever funny.
Then i was torn, becuse the Virtual Shackles one was well done and true, but not very funny. But it was BitF's first time ever!! Decisions.
Then the penguin comic had the exact same joke as BitF, so unfortunately they lost out again.

BUt now i feel sad... maybe BitF will never again be funny.... maybe they lost out on their only chance just because that penguin one copied their joke. Sigh.
