Here's a bunch of pretty moving pictures from Resonance of Fate
Listen, we don't need to understand the primary language used in a trailer to know that it's completely awesome. After the break, you'll find a six-and-a-half-minute-long Japanese trailer for Resonance of Fate (or, as its called overseas, End of Eternity), and while we don't really understand what's being said, the video possesses plenty of the universal language: Totally rad gun ... shooting. Gun action. Firearm discharging ... coolness.
Okay, there's not really a word for the video's awesome properties, but we trust that you'll know them when you see them.

And a dirty pistol that love to crew hop?
Premature ejaculation man @ Nov 15th 2009 10:17PM
And a water pistol I named C-C-C-COMBO BREAKER
koehler83 @ Nov 15th 2009 9:09PM
It's been a long time coming, but it's nice to finally see a multiplat game show footage from both platforms in a single promo vid. Even if it's not quite equally represented on both platforms in the video, it's nice to see they both exist months out from launch.
doc j @ Nov 15th 2009 9:29PM
Definitely digging how you can equip your character and have that affect the cut scenes. I imagine that has to be quite effort intensive, but I would similarly imagine it will really shine through in the end.
Jtenma @ Nov 16th 2009 10:37AM
That blew my mind.
They must have a really good engine to be able to do that. It surprises me why we claim to be in "next- gen", but can't figure this out yet.
It is the little things that count.
HelpWanted @ Nov 15th 2009 9:31PM
Looks pretty good. I actually was diggin the customization of the outfits.
OH AND THE GUNS TOO!!!!!
made me think of Septerra Core, mainly the city and the staggered/stairway of floating islands
Asymptopic @ Nov 15th 2009 10:56PM
I didn't think I'd ever meet someone else who's played that game.
The Pirate @ Nov 16th 2009 6:46AM
Oh my god! Someone else who has played Septerra Core! I loved that game. I got it in a 2 pack with some Mech game from Midway. I loved both of them.
HelpWanted @ Nov 16th 2009 3:07PM
I had the same exact two pack set. Both games were pretty awesome. Especially Septerra Core, I thought they did a pretty great job on it.
killdash9 @ Nov 16th 2009 4:49PM
Septerra Core was awesome indeed. I bought it and Shogo: MAD (the FPS game from Monolith, not Midway, that was in the dual jewel pack with Septerra) separately, in full retail boxes, and enjoyed both. In a trailer here on Joystiq for a new multiplayer mode for Monolith's recent FEAR 2, there was a Septerra box on a shelf with other old PC games. I liked that.
Dee @ Nov 15th 2009 9:33PM
The city looks so midgar influenced :/
CJLopez @ Nov 16th 2009 11:23AM
the whole game looks like final fantasy 7 influenced, and i'm digging that!!!!!!!!!!!
freaparn @ Nov 15th 2009 9:52PM
Well, this interests me somewhat, I have to admit. Not really a huge JRPG buff, and the gun battles look a wee bit overdone with all the flipping and sliding to take out Generic Guard #98232, but the city design is somewhat compelling and the gun customization looks intriguing...
That being said, a big ol' SIGH yet again to the androgynous male leads. I will never understand that, heh.
jchensor @ Nov 16th 2009 3:53PM
It's just culture differences, that's all. That's what's consider "manly" and attractive in Japan. Big, buffed-out guys are stereotyped to be gay in Japanese culture. So they have the opposite response. I remember reading somewhere once that Japanese players wondered why everyone in Gears of War looked homosexual.
Rein [Prime Minister of the city-state of New Bjork] @ Nov 15th 2009 10:09PM
This game looks awesome. I hope this is tri-Ace trying to make up for that pile of shit called Infinite Undiscovery. The battle system reminds me of a hyper Valkyrie Profile battle system except in three dimensions.
Only thing I'm not super thrilled about is Motoi Sakuraba and his fucking piano mashing. It was awesome the first 100 times around but now he just sounds boring. Still, he does have a knack for making great battle themes. Also, OUTFIT CUSTOMIZATION!!! I don't know why, but I love it when games let me customize my characters' looks.
Shadowbender (Nelson Is Behind You) @ Nov 15th 2009 10:17PM
This is The Matrix of video games. That's just awesome.
Uncontrol @ Nov 15th 2009 10:31PM
guess i won't pick up the sequels, then
Sadistic Freek @ Nov 16th 2009 2:08AM
I was thinking more of Equilibrium... which I enjoyed far more.
koehler83 @ Nov 16th 2009 10:14AM
No, it's Matrix. Equilibrium was gun play without acrobatics. (Bale's stunt double does a double axle near the end of the movie, but it's not really combative)
Hydrophobicfish (PSN: HydrophobicFish) @ Nov 15th 2009 10:31PM
In the very beginning a girl jumps off of a bridge...
Is there some sort of cultural meaning, or symbolism to that? I notice in a lot of Japanese games/anime it often starts with a girl jumping off of something.
WINterfang ( Now with the power to piss you off ) @ Nov 15th 2009 10:32PM
It's more of a Cliche'.
Rock Fistpump @ Nov 16th 2009 8:46AM
No kidding- every character in this is a cliche, down to the voice acting.
HOWEVER, the game looks like it's going to be a blast and I'll still be picking it up!
WINterfang ( Now with the power to piss you off ) @ Nov 15th 2009 10:32PM
I don't like the logo, it seems like it says End Fo Eternity instead also this game looks last gen, not graphically but it's got a Playstation 2 RPG feel, I'm saying this as a compliment.
Jtenma @ Nov 16th 2009 10:39AM
You too? I felt the same way. It has that warm feeling I can't describe.
Nathanael @ Nov 15th 2009 10:35PM
Here are a bunch ..., not here's.
ballistic3188 @ Nov 15th 2009 11:18PM
man combat is an endless john woo combat scene. now if doves came out it would be perfect.
abisairomero @ Nov 15th 2009 11:28PM
cant wait for this.. i just cant!!!!!!!!!!
texaggie117 @ Nov 15th 2009 11:53PM
Going to have to see if the story is as compelling as the hectic gameplay. But Im interested so far.
Wardo @ Nov 15th 2009 11:55PM
This video has peaked my interest, I will keep an eye on this game for now.
Preston @ Nov 16th 2009 12:41AM
The more I see of the combat in this game the more I'm getting a heavy Star Ocean vibe. :|
trunks @ Nov 16th 2009 5:02AM
another must buy to add to the list...I honestly don't know how to make time for all upcoming gems...gnarf!
DEVIN @ Nov 16th 2009 6:27AM
hmmmm
Exemplar @ Nov 16th 2009 8:05AM
If it ended, it wouldn't be eternity now would it?
Koenn @ Nov 16th 2009 9:11AM
If it was really the "final fantasy", there wouldn't be thirteen sequels, would there? HMM?
ClarkyCat @ Nov 16th 2009 8:45AM
I read the title as "emotionally charged screenshots"!
Xanto @ Nov 16th 2009 10:34AM
Looks awesome, I just hope it doesn't turn out to be mediocre like Star Ocean: The Last Hope
CJLopez @ Nov 16th 2009 11:25AM
getting one of this babies
PreGHz @ Nov 16th 2009 2:36PM
I can't understand Japanese, but I caught the bit when the announcer said elevator at >>3:00, as they were going down the elevator. Hold the fuck up. I was like, "Oh snap, they threw an elevator into this game? Shit's so cash."
Screw the gunplay or customized clothing cutscenes. Elevators are real 2010 shit, f'real.
Mr. Doosh @ Nov 17th 2009 6:16AM
Is it just me or does the rocket on the main page look like a flying dildo?
