Though Modern Warfare 2 is rife with instantly accessible, beloved characters with fascinating names, we all know that one stands out as the franchise's most memorable protagonist: Ghost. You know, Ghost! He's got that skull mask, and there was that one scene where that guy's about to shoot you, and then Ghost shoots him right back. He's already risen to fame somewhat when he received a six-part comic series telling his story -- but if the actor who provides the spectral hero's voice is to be believed, he might just show up in his own video game as well.
Craig Fairbrass, who not only did the voice for Ghost in MW2, but also voiced the equally unfortunately named Gaz in the original Modern Warfare, mentioned, "I'm now voicing a guy called Ghost, who now just got a spin-off comic of his own and they're talking about another little game to go with it." Little game? Based on the number of Michael Bay-esque explosions in the first five minutes of Modern Warfare 2, we're not sure Infinity Ward is capable of making those.

Just so everyone knows, as a pre-med student, I can tell you people survive point blank gunshots to the head more than you would think. While it's highly unlikely, people do pull through, A gunshot to the head, depending on the location, can simply damage tissue that doesn't control the lungs, heart, and nervous system. Therefore you can continue breathing, yet with massive blood loss and brain damage. Once again, it's highly improbable, but it does happen. Most likely, if he did survive, he'd be in a vegetative state, with little chance for recovery. However, just like stroke victims, the brain is an amazing thing and can recover from almost complete tissue loss
So while it's almost impossible, it is not complete unheard of for a person to return and actually function after being shot through the skull. Occam's razor dictates that the simplest answer is usually the best, and as they hired the same voice actor and never showed his face, it would seem the simplest answer is that this character is Gaz. Whether his chances of survival were simple or not.

The comic should be decent. Kevin West is the artist, here's a sample of his work:

@ Sly
*SPOILERS*
If you watch the scene correctly, Ghost is shot in the chest. Also, no gasoline is thrown on him, only Roach...it's very possible that Ghost my still be alive, hence his name too. I also wouldn't dismiss the theories of Gaz being Ghost if this were to hold true.
