They were *married* for 56 years - that means he married her when he was 19 (56+19=75).

AJ, with "wife of 56 years" they refer to her age, not the time they were married. I understand the confusion, though.

"wife of 56 years" means they were married for 56 years, not that she was 56 years old.

They had their 5th sons in 1970, which would be crazy for a woman who was only 56 today. They were definitely married for 56 years.

Rest in peace, Leland Cook.

It's been a real pleasure having to have played such great classics as Battletoads and Double Dragon, two series of games I still go nuts over with nostalgia.

How about we honor this man with reboots of both series?

So now when I'm watching someone let Mario Bros Wii play the game for them, I can say 'Leland Cook is turning in his grave'.

RIP sir, thank you for bringing over my favorite NES game ever.

I'm pretty sure he's saying "Battletoads was so hard, it's a shame to see Nintendo making games so easy that you watch them being played". And something about his grave rolling down a hill.

Fuck it, I'm not a translator.

You win the low class award for the night.

Most banks were forced to take 'bailouts'. It was merely to keep them liquid.

Because the New Super Mario Bros. game play mode has nothing to do with this man, that's why.

Also, there is a reply button. Unlike what you've might heard, it's not illegal or uncool to press it.

It's a stupid joke.

Stupid as a screen door on a battleship...

I can see the connection that's trying to be made.

Battletoads was localized by Tradewest. Battletoads is hard as hell. New Super Mario Bros. has the option of playing for you, thus being easy. Mr. Cook would turn over in his grave because his game was hard and now games are easy.

Battletoads was without a doubt one of THE BEST NES games EVER. It was so difficult but so fun. Renting that game & never being able to get past the part where you speed along having to make precise jumps.

Thank you for helping make one of my fav videogame memories happen.

I remember Ikari Warriors. I loved all three games in the series, especially 2. 2 was so wierd, what with all of the aliens and other oddball stuff. IW 3 was super easy. If I remember, you had unlimited continues and you simply respawned where you died, thus giving the game no challenge whatsoever. IW is a series I would love to see brought back to life. RIP. Oh yeah, don't forget about Battletoads vs. Double Dragon. That game was INSANE!!!!!!

I love Battletoads and I love Double Dragon. But one of the greatest memories I have from the Tradewest company was the Super Off-Road series.

God I love me some top-down racers....(see: Super Sprint, RC Pro AM, Rock N Roll Racing...)

I have the first stage of Double Dragon (NES version) as my ringtone...just set it over the weekend. Weird.

Anyway, Tradewest is definitely one of the top 5 company names I associate with my own personal gaming childhood nostalgia "Hall of Fame."
