You may have completed Metroid Prime Trilogy and begun to enter Full Excitement Mode™ for next year's Metroid Other M, but there could be even more Metroid in store under Prime's banner of first-person action. Nintendo's Kensuke Tanabe, who oversaw development on the Prime games for Nintendo at Retro Studios, recently told ONM that Nintendo is "always planning to make new games in the Metroid Prime series."
Tanabe didn't speak of a continuation on Wii, but noted that depending "on the timing and the situation, we cannot deny the possibility of realising it on DS or DSi." Though Retro hasn't isolated itself from the franchise, we know Nintendo isn't shy about sharing Samus with external developers. Just don't call it "Metroid Dread," guys. Bad memories.

Really. I can't think of any reason they would end the Metroid series.
Although I could go for a new side scrolling addition to the series.

I actually hope they make an Online metroid game. I like Hunters but because of hackers it went really down hill. If they could dedicate themselves to the online of it then it would be really nice.
Honestly to those who would say that focusing on Online would ruin the single player you really got ask yourself how good the story even is in the first place.

In all honesty I hated Hunters.
That's all I have to say. Single player and multi player both.
I had fun with virtually every other metroid game there is, but not this one.
I'd actually like to see the Metroid Prime 2 multiplayer fleshed out.
I was disappointed it didn't make an appearance as online multi player for trilogy.

Buy the first two for the Gamecube. I think 1 is only seven dollars on average. Then, if you like em, buy Corruption or the trilogy.

This was meant for Tre, but he's got an apostrophe in his name. Not a reply fail on my part.

That is to say I want more traditional Metroid bad, (super metroid is one of the greatest games of all time).. Not another prime game.
The prime games were great, but Im burnt out on them, the thought of another 20 hours of scanning junk sounds like work to me.. Also the prime games are prequels, I want to play future Samus quests please.

Cool, I guess. The Prime trilogy was amazing and all. I just hope that this continuation actually has a purpose and they're not just doing it for the sake of it. I personally would also like to see what Retro can do outside of the Metroid franchise.

You certainly speak for this one....
Even if it has to be an on rails metroid game like fusion...
Just make a 2D metroid....
Or even a 3D2D metroid, much like New Super Mario Bros...
New Super Metroid? Ugh, sounds terribad....

Meh, they ruined Metroid for me when it went first person. I bought the first two on gamecube but when they're put the third on a system I had no interest in buying that completely ended my involvement. See ya Samus, I guess I wont get to see how Team Ninja manages to make boobs bounce in armor.

Hey, I'm a fan of the original 2D metroids.... and I liked the Prime games...
I know I know... but stop gasping, you need oxygen to live.
It was pretty much the only way Metroid was going to make a successful translation.
Just be glad the original Metroid Prime didn't end up playing like Hunters.
