2007: Adding media formats to make the 360 a real player in the media center war.

2008: New Xbox Experience. Avatars, Netflix and a whole new blade system.

and now!

2009: Facebook and Twitter applications that are mediocre at best!

Oh thank you, Microsoft, to continue being your very best, every day.

I know it's free, I know I sound bitter, but after changing the way the Xbox operates last year and then giving us a half-hearted Facebook and Twitter applications? I was completely underwhelmed in the beta and I doubt it's going to be different now.

It's like getting a Mazarati for Christmas one year and then getting a Pinto the next year.

Okay, I forgot about Last.fm which may be great.

But being in the great, white North we have no clue, we don't get access. Similar to Netflix.

Would that be enough to make me happy with the update? I don't know...

If you're bored of your Mazarati after a year, then you deserve a fucking Pinto.

Maybe that's it. I mean, who's paying who in order to get Facebook in our games anyway?

The new Facebook/Twitter/Last.fm/Zune features on the xbox are useless. If they can't run in the background during a game, or at least be easily launched from the default jewel button menu, what's the point?

I was in the beta and i found it underwhelming, and underdeveloped, but whatever.

People who are bitching about this fall into 3 categories.

1. Trolls

2. 360 fanboys who have no respect for the PC even though the makers of the Xbox fucking MAKE PC'S TOO.

or, 3. Something from my basement.

My work is done.

Real quick:

1. Yes.

2. Microsoft does not make PC's, they make Operating Systems and "productivity software".

3. Most likely.

1) No further comments needed

2) Oops, my bad. Still, they're basically ragging their own company. Oh well.

3) I checked my basement, I should have never left that window open.

Hey I'm gonna voice my opion also I also think The facebook and Twitter are useless on my xbox ( call cops Shelly doesn't like it I must be breaking somekinda internet law) I feel MS gave us this crap instead of a browser is we would never rent or buy anything from their marketplace if we had a browser with probly implamented flash!

That was pretty funny Justin. However I the posts you made raised some questions. I understood that facebook on the 360 is a stand alone app and not integrated. So if I wanted to share with my facebook and twitter friends that I just beat a level or got an achievement I have to do it myself after I quit playing the game. Also if someone tweets a link I can't read it on my 360 because there is no web browser. Is this correct?

I am somewhat dissapointed by 360 facebook. It just wasn't...useful. Twitter I don't use as theres nothing that I really care to follow(and none of my friends use it, as they are on facebook instead.) and last fm would've been sweet if i could use it in games or at least on the dashboard, but its still neato. Otherwise...very lackluster update. And why can't these services get there own channel line instead of searching for them amongst a hoard of ads and such? Its neat, it got me to turn on my xbox at least another time...but nothing to ride down the street and shout about.

Last.FM rocks. Twitter, no thanks, I will use my Blackberry for that, and for Facebook too after peeping it out on XBL this morning. The only thing useful I can see Facebook on XBL being used for is showing photo albums on your big screen. Other than that, I say... FAIL.
