Haha I should have tipped this to you guys when I got the game at midnight and was really disappointed to get a ring tone of sam saying "I'm DONE HIDING" instead of a demo... oh well

Did Joystiq coin "rumorong"? Always thought that was clever.

Yeah I was extremely disappointed by that, but pleasantly surprised by that uplay thing Ubi launched with AC2. It's sort of an offshoot of achievements (hell, I think they actually are some of the achievements), and you unlock in game stuff with the points you get from them like an actual side level.

I saw you can unlock an entire multiplayer mode in Splinter Cell with their achievements. Not sure how people will react to that.

http://uplay.us.ubi.com/

Link to the website. I wanted the altair costume but I'm saving points for that bonus level.

Oh that's what that was when I saw "ACTION COMPLETED" or something in AC2?

The leaflet, pictured above, was handed to me by the Gamestop employee.

The one included within the box itself is the one with the crappy "exclusive" download from their site.

It's ok Joystiq because anything from NeoGAF is like listening to that deranged hobo by the freeway exit.

So, is Rumorong supposed to be 'rumor wrong' or 'boomerang'?

Well, when a rumor pops up more than once, it's a "Rumorang:" post. When it pops up more than once and it's being clarified as incorrect, it's a "Rumorong:" post. I'm not sure if Joystiq "coined" either of these phrases as I've only been here for so long, but I imagine that is very much the case (though it is of course possible someone, somewhere, at some point in time, has said those words). Hope that helps!

It just goes to show that proper grammar often DOES correlate with correctness.

Off topic here but everyone better be able to get that shotgun eventually or that is fucked. I don't care about pre-order bonuses but I hate the shit that you can never unlock.

That's wrong. That's just a piece of paper we (Game Stop have laying about). The one inside the Assassin's Creed box tells you to go to some site like splintercell.com/conviction and then enter in a code spelled "conviction" but with some numbers as letters like so: "c0nv1ct1on."

I worked the midnight release last night at my store and was going to write down the code and website, but didn't feel like it since I assumed it would mean downloading and playing it on my computer.

Like everyone else said

it's confirmed there is no demo

It's just this code

CONV1C71ON

and you type it at

www.splintercell.com/ac2

and you can get a wallpaper and some free mp3's/ringtones
