Why would someone go through the process of trading these titles in when they can just as easily keep the DVD and buy the Blu-ray for the $10 on Amazon with free shipping. There is no incentive at all there. Make it $5, and they've got a deal.

It is funny I got most of those on Blu Ray for prices close to that on Amazon already.

It's still not available in Canada? :(

And How about VHS2BLU. I actually still have some of those movies in the ancient tape format.

That made me laugh.

They could probably resell these DVD's. No one is going to buy the VHS tapes.

Though, funnily enough, one of the titles on that list (A History of Violence) was the last major VHS release in America...

hey scott LokeSTL is right!
im shocked too
look at bettle juice
http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_ss?url=search-alias%3Ddvd&field-keywords=beetle+juice

see its $10 i mean pritty much all of those titles are $10 on blue ray just with their "deal" your losing a dvd version of them.
so its better to just buy from amzon, and dear god you might want to spend an extra 15 is it and get freeshipping, now when you ship the dvds i think you have to pay for that out of your own pocket too so thats 10 bucks in shipping!
so $44 and you dont even get to keep the dvds where you can spend 30 on amazon and keep the dvds.

Loke is right

I disagree...although it is convenient there is nothing tangible, i enjoy having the case and pamphlet, and correct me if I'm wrong but there aren't any extras when u buy download-able movies. Another thing is internet connection, if you don't have fast internet, or someone else is using it at the same time, either the quality is going to be downgraded or it will take forever to download the movie......for me Blue ray is deff the way to go

I guess no one's noticed that Blu-ray players also play DVDs.

Bluray players don't magically add all the missing resolution to old DVDs.Even on the best upconverting players, I can tell a difference between DVD and Bluray on my home TV.

I wish the movie companies would do something like this in the UK.

I would love to exchange a whole heap of my dvd collection (currently at 700+) into shiny Bluray's to burden my already big collection (90+).

"Yes, Warner Bros. really released (at least) 125 movies on HD-DVD. And no, we don't know what it was thinking."

At one point HD-DVD was outselling Blu-Ray 2 to 1. Some suit probably saw this and said "Hey, let's put our movies in this format!"

Then the PS3 came out...
