Spike TV's Geoff Keighley has tweeted that Halo: Reach will make its video debut at the 2009 Video Game Awards on December 12. It's probably no stretch to think that this WORLD EXCLUSIVE will extend the audience of the awards show, who will thrust their DVRs into action to obtain the trailer.
... or, you know, they can just come around the internet ten minutes later. Whatever, their choice.

If it is like the book, and if it's well made (I dont expect anything less from Bungie), then this could quite possibly become my favorite game ever.

I wonder if they'll show Master Chiefs face.
Anyways they need to make a new engine for this game if not it'll be a failed attempt on getting the best narrative in the Halo universe to shine to all the none book readers out there.

Ugh, one more reason not to watch the show (and yet I inevitably will since I likely won't have anything else to do then)

Wouldn't it be kwazy if you actually liked the footage you saw? Even if you are the biggest anti-Halo troll, at least you'd get a new weapon to use and some credibility because you actually bothered to watch it. You'd still get laughed to high-heaven for watching the VGAs though.

Classy, deepfriedsushi. I can tell you're one of the gentlemen that makes playing Halo online such a fantastic experience.
I'm surprised you spelled "you're" right though, I gotta give you credit for that. You're at least a half step above all your Halo friends.

Damn tmac, I thought you were alright. Why you gotta bash fans of halo like that? Halo was the first shooter I ever played, I don't think that makes me illiterate or idiotic because I enjoy the franchise.

I was guessing, based on his productive and insightful comment, that he was one of the fine souls who make the game so fun to play on Live.
Regular people who play Halo don't bother me, people like him do though.

Are you afraid that Reach will be much superior to MW2 ?

Well it's a Halo game, so no I'm not worried about it being better than MW2 cause it's logically impossible.
I am however, scared to death for Vampire Rain being passed.

I know and it makes me sick, but I try to forget about that.
Thankfully the 360 is not the xbox 1, and there's a ridiculous amount of great games on 360. I didn't have an xbox 1 because it was basically the Halo-box.

I don't hate halo because it's cool, I hate it because it's one of the worst franchises I've ever played.
Playing halo 1 when it came out on a friend's xbox made me not buy a xbox 1 because of how bad it was. It only became cool to hate halo when everyone started copying me.

Ah the classic simpleton cop-out answer to someone who doesn't like halo, they're not good at obviously!
I'm not good at MW2 online either, but I love it and enjoy playing it.
Halo's just an awful franchise that should be beaten to death with a spiked club and then lit on fire as it cries for help.

Master Chief is like Mario.

I actually like the Halo universe and the simple feel to SP. It's easy for people to join in and have fun with you even if they aren't FPS players normally. However I suck bad at the MP...real bad. I don't see that as a reason to hate the game though. I can't be great at every game for them to be quality titles.
Tmac, ODST was pretty solid to play too. I started reading the Fall of Reach book after playing it and its not a bad storyline they setup. Maybe you should give it a little more credit.

All the novels are worth reading (though you can skip The Flood, as it's just the novelization of the game). But the other five are very good.

Here's the problem tmac. While you're sitting here telling us Halo sucks, is this and that, blah blah blah, you haven't said WHY you feel this way. Calling us "simpletons" doesn't help either when in fact, you're the biggest fucking idiot here.
I'll help you out and tell you why I enjoy Halo and why it's my favorite franchise:
1. Great gameplay
2. Great story
3. Outstanding online/offline multiplayer (competitive & co-op)
4. Unlimited replayability
5. Great dev team heavily involved in it's community
The combination of all these elements is what makes the franchise so successful. For an FPS franchise that had it's debut on a brand new console (one created by Microsoft at that), Halo did everything right and set the standard for next gen games in just about every aspect. It's very rare that a brand new franchise can sway the industry the way Halo did. And if you can't see that, you're a bigger dolt than I originally thought.

Halo as much of a story as Mario does, none.
And MW2's campaign is epic, not the story. Halo 3 had one of the most generic and boring FPS campaigns I've ever played, not even counting that awful level near the end where you have to save Cortana.

Makes as much sense as attacking Johnny for liking MAG.
I think you didn't like Halo 3 because either A: You didn't play the first two, and had no idea what was going on or B: You're just a moron. That campaign wasn't generic or boring.

I didn't have to worry about missing out on anything, because there wasn't anything to miss out on. You play as the most generic and boring character in the history of gaming, who says maybe 3 words a game and you fight generic aliens to save the earth along a campaign that provides 0 surprises or awesome moments. Whereas the IW call of duty games are full of awesome moments.
Now you see why Halo is the definition of a generic FPS....it started that term.

You just showcased your stupidity. The first game wasn't even on Earth, and only a portion of the campaigns of 2 and 3 took place on Earth.
There are awesome moments aplenty.
Really, though, Halo is a bit of a love story. I can see where that would go over your head.

Halo's a love story now? Jesus christ man. I could see how your simple mind would be impressed with the so called "story" of a halo game, but seriously even Nintendo games have deeper stories than Halo games.

Oh and about your comment on Halo story. I can say that it is one of the most in depth stroys in a FPS ever.
"Has as much story as Mario"
Now your just showing your retared-ness, if you want I could tell you the entire story line.

Wee, the same conversation all over again.
Halo as a game has a weak story. Though the mythos explained by the book is amazing, and the more subtle things like the Terminals in Halo 3 are just as good, the game itself has a weak story. However if you go by Justin McElroy's standards that a game's plot is enough if it is able to motivate you to shoot that next guy.
The gameplay is great. It's a great social game, and it's made even better since Bungie listens to its community.
