Resident Evil 5: Alternative Edition has an alternate episode
The upcoming Alternative Edition DLC for Resident Evil 5 is going to include much more than motion controller support for PS3 and the "Lost in Nightmares" flashback episode. The latest issue of Japanese mag Famitsu (via Andriasang) notes that Capcom has two additional surprises for players: new costumes and new characters for a revamped "Mercenaries Reunion" (seen above), as well as an extra, yet-to-be-revealed chapter.
All this content will be released as four separate DLC packs:

i'll probably wait until they re-release it on the 260 (probably under the platinum hits label)
SicTransit2 @ Nov 18th 2009 12:18PM
^360 (and i'm just assuming that they'll re-release it with all the DLC added like some titles have been doing recently)
Jawmuncher (PSN & XBL:Jawmuncher) @ Nov 18th 2009 12:20PM
I guess basically 15 for all that content isn't to bad especially if the episode's are a decent length. Was going to buy this anyway since i'm a big RE fan.
Would prefer if the costume packs were actually new characters for Mercs but i'm kinda doubting that at this point.
rogXue @ Nov 18th 2009 12:23PM
I'll wait for game of the year edition seeing as that always happens. I had my fill of re5
squallgengar @ Nov 18th 2009 12:26PM
Well, you'll be waiting a while for that one. However, Capcom is working on an Alternative Edition that should more than satisfy you.
Dave Wakefield @ Nov 18th 2009 12:28PM
I'm a big RE fan, but I'm not fond of DLC in general. I wish Capcom wouldn't nickel and dime us to death. I'd buy an updated GOTY edition though.
fohf @ Nov 18th 2009 5:23PM
So you have a problem paying $5 to $15 for additional content, but no problem paying 60 bucks to repurchase all the previous content in addition to the new content?
Levi @ Nov 18th 2009 8:15PM
yeah dude, it's a bit long since the game came out to be calling this nickel and diming. I don't know how old you are, but back in my day, they would release expansion packs that cost $20. Granted, they were longer to play through generally than DLC, but games were longer in general back then, too, and they didn't cost more. Nobody complained about expansion packs, in fact, everyone loved them. If you liked the original game, here's more! And it's only $20! Now, DLC expansions are only $5 and $10. Avoiding the DLC released soon after the main title, DLC like this, that has had a decent gap of time between its release and its parent's release, is nothing but more of a good thing for people who like the game. Otherwise, it's completely avoidable.

Am I the only one that started drooling at the sight of Hot-Librarian/Businesswoman Sheva?
The Good Soldier Svejk @ Nov 18th 2009 12:41PM
Yes, everyone else is too busy looking at the beautiful pectoral muscle that Chris is showing.
Viridium @ Nov 18th 2009 1:05PM
Actually, I'd lay money that's a "Dead Rising Jessie" costume for Sheva.
Cena @ Nov 18th 2009 1:07PM
It's still hot.
Levi @ Nov 18th 2009 8:17PM
I've filled my quota of video game babes for like a century; I just finished Ninja Gaiden Sigma... I can't believe the giggle physics they made for Rachel (and weirdly implemented in every female character, including monsters, in the game).
The Dark Wayne [Planeteer: Power of the Batusi] ATDFs Financier and Batman @ Nov 18th 2009 12:39PM
Is that Lord Humongous?
laser beams @ Nov 18th 2009 1:13PM
he does resemble the Humongous, doesn't he? although if he had a motorcycle and little blonde sex-slave he'd more resemble Wez.
R5 @ Nov 18th 2009 12:43PM
No HUNK, no sale.

laser beams @ Nov 18th 2009 1:12PM
finally!!! the only thing that's been keeping me from playing RE5 was the inability to dress my character as a creepy leather-daddy :D
superman915 @ Nov 18th 2009 1:21PM
Anyone made a GWAR joke yet?
7thton @ Nov 18th 2009 1:39PM
I'll buy the new eps, but not the costume packs.
Polybius @ Nov 18th 2009 1:44PM
Some kind of Fallout 3 crossover? Looks like raider painspike armour.
emperorzeroxx @ Nov 18th 2009 2:01PM
unlikely for the prices to be different? Anyone else remember the versus DLC?!?!?! Watch, each episode will be like 10 bucks over here but the costumes will probably stay the same...
golobulus @ Nov 18th 2009 2:03PM
wait for director's cut.
CJLopez @ Nov 18th 2009 3:14PM
14 bucks for that content??????
sold for me, xDDDDD
Ghostsong @ Nov 18th 2009 3:42PM
Yeah wasn't the verses dlc more than twice what it cost in japan? From $2 to $5 if i remember.
DrFreeman @ Nov 18th 2009 4:02PM
Since when was it confirmed for 360...?
Freakwincy42 @ Nov 18th 2009 5:13PM
well, my wife will make me buy ALL of this. (it's her favorite game) we played through this game 5 freakin' times. it got to the point that she'd say "thanks, pahtnah!" to me for like... making dinner, or doing the dishes... *sigh* just when i thought she'd gotten over it, looks like we're going to be playing even more.
fohf @ Nov 18th 2009 5:24PM
If you're tired I'll play with her ;)
Freakwincy42 @ Nov 18th 2009 5:37PM
umm, thanks for the offer, i guess, but i'm gonna go with "no". killin' zombies gets her all worked up, know what i mean? so... even if i'm kinda bored with the game, i'll manage. ;-D
Levi @ Nov 18th 2009 8:19PM
I wish my GF liked games like RE. The most gaming I've seen her do since we've been together is when I bought her Ratatouille for Gamecube.
Sion @ Nov 18th 2009 5:27PM
They Really need to Add the Ghost Costume *A white bed sheet* for Chris and have him say *Boy* over and over again and have Sheva Dressed up as a Witch Doctor shaking a chicken and rolling her eyes back.
