Dark Void film adaptation announced

Preemptively cutting off complaints that it strays too far from the source material, Capcom has announced a film adaptation of a game you haven't played yet: Dark Void, next year's promising third-person shooter from Airtight Games. In line with the agreement reached between Capcom, Reliance BIG Entertainment and Brad Pitt's Plan B Entertainment production company, Dark Void is primed as a "sci-fi action franchise and potential starring vehicle for Pitt."

While the parties involved decide whether or not the movie is indeed the Pitt's, someone should probably point out that as far as starring vehicles go, a jetpack is probably the best one. Players will beat Hollywood to the punch and experience it for themselves when Dark Void lands on PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 on January 19, 2010 in North America and January 22, 2010 in Europe.

Hasnt the game been delayed a few times? I bet the movie will be too.

Who cares? If they are working with the developers in any form then it doesn't matter if the game is released or not. Plenty of game releases before movies come out. Stop looking for something to complain about people.

Anyway looking forward to Dark Void hope it's as enjoyable as BC.
I know a lot of people hate Bionic Commando but I had a lot of fun with it hell I enjoyed it more than infamous.

What's Dark Void? I never heard of the game before.

Brad Pitt = Do Not Want

Yeah, I'd much rather they did the same thing as watchmen and pick actors who are great fits for the characters, it would save them money and gain them credibility too.

Well think about this for a sec, Mr. Alex. This is an unproven property, they need a name to throw into the movie so that fans will probably want to watch and maybe start a little word of mouth...

interesting. i'm really looking forward to this game and think the concept would translate well into film (especially if they re-cast David Bowie as Nikola Tesla; we never findout where he went after leaving-town quickly in "The Prestige"!!)

That said, i still think a better potential starring vehicle for Brad Pitt would be as Image Comics' beloved 1990s character The Pitt.

Dark Void sounds interesting, but I hope Airtight Games makes the third Crimson Skies in the future with Smith and Tinker since the team was made up of the guys who made High Road to Revenge.
