Polish up your armor and prune your dialog trees: EA has announced a new Dragon Age: Origins DLC adventure, "Return to Ostagar," is coming to Xbox 360, PS3 and PC this holiday season for $5. The add-on will allow your hero to "revisit Ostagar, the site of the Grey Wardens' darkest hour, to reclaim the honor and learn the secrets of Ferelden's fallen king."
Listen, we're as big of fans of Dragon Age: Origins as you're likely to meet, but we have to question the scheduling of this DLC release. It's not that we don't want it, but who out there has played so much DA:O that they're bored of what's on the disc? Seriously, the thing's like 340 hours long!

Any more content is great as far as I'm concerned. I can't even think about this game without little swoony cartoon hearts popping up all around my head as it is. I'd like that feeling to last as long as possible.

I can't believe how good this game is. I was 30 minutes late to class today because I could literally not stop playing it.
By the way, why is my Elven Mage constantly shedding gray dots? Is he just fatigued from maintaining his armor spells?

My diagnosis is that you've got 'the rocks'. It comes with maintaining the Rock Armour spell. A penicillin shot should clear that right up. :)

Haha, I wondered that too. Yeah, it's from the Rock Armor spell she casts automatically. You may notice in some of the cutscenes her skin actually changes to stone and back periodically.

Polish up my weapons and armor? But brother, it still is in use! I haven't played even...20 hours of it. It feels so goddamn huge that i skip it for smaller games like MW2, Ballad and AC2. For the first time in my gaming life, i am planning to schedule my game playing time. Each day of the week is assigned to one single game alone. Only this will allow proper allotment to all the games i want to play. Thank goodness for short games!

I'm looking forward to this but I will not be purchasing it until they have fixed an achievement glitch that affects the original DLC. Say what you like about achievements but they are part of the game and they should work .
I would like to a forum topic explaining this but EA/Bioware deleted it.

340 isn't an exaggeration. 60 hours per each race/background combination = 6x60 hours. I love this freaking game.

I'm about 50+ hours in and still loving it. But I don't want it to end so I'm excited that they are pushing DLC for this game!!

uh, i beat the game to beat the game. in this day and age, it's not uncommon to load the "last chapter" or checkpoint to see a different ending. ive played the game in full twice already and plan to play it even more. you pc gamers get mods and console commands so i don't want to hear you fuss about me checking out the other endings by reloading the game. the ending are all decided by end game choices not choices throughout the whole game. stop your fussing about stupid stuff. i was just noting how long it took me to play the game and we get the idiots that fill comment pages all the time telling me i didn't play the game. shut your filth mouth and go comment on youtube about a video you don't like but watched anyway

Reply fail!
And real console gamers consider it a cop-out to use save game exploits for Achievements.
You fail.

exploit? hardly. you know what a "real" gamer is? it's about as crazy as saying you know what "normal" is. to each their own bub. don't go fussing about how people like to play games

I don't know where this came from, but there isn't an 11th hour decision that vastly alters the game ending. All the decisions you make throughout the game impacts the ending.

the decisions you make throughout the game effect the epilogue, but the endings that counts towards the ending achievement is only those made at the Landsmeet and shortly after.

$5 for DLC? That's quite cheap!
Wait.. Are there quests, or is it just a place :/?
Also, isn't it like £11 for the big stone guy DLC?

I think its great. I had already finished Mass Effect and put it away by the time they got around to putting out the DLC-just wasn't inclined to go back by then. I much prefer to have it come out asap.

Yikes, more? I'm closing in on 60 hours for my first playthrough, have only touched one of the Origin stories, and still have to go back to the Fallout 3 DLC.
Not to mention Mass Effect 2 on the horizon.
Guess I'd better clone myself now, so I can keep up.

It's another step towards the road of subscription based single player games. Release lots of 'DLC' frequently, get people into the habit of expecting to pay more every month or two, then announce HEY we're doing away with that old idea of making you pay for new content every so often, now were introducing this new subscription idea so you can just download all the new content as soon as it comes out!

I am excited to know that there is more content coming for this game, I love it. I have played it for about 50 hours and have hardly made it half way. $5 is a steal for more content, considering the game should have been sold for $100 to begin with.

I am playing the game through for the third time and i am still finding new things about it. I think the game has some great elements and it has alot of room to expand. I will purchase all expansions and all upgrades i just would like to know when it comes out. cant wait for Return to Ostagar.

I was wondering why everyone was commenting on DLC it save you money and time from waiting for a whole new game to be released. and it will keep all of the same game mechanics.

finnished the game 2 times good to see new content, I think the game is too short(even when doing all the side quests).

I really like the DLC stuff for DA:O It even gives you a new character. I really dont get why some ppl are complaining. Even if the content isnt story related. Any content is good content. The content that is in the Current DLC is applicable to the game.

"My aren't you sweet and attentive"!!
Well I reckon DA is the absolute shizzle... MASSIVE game that simply defies belief. As for DLC it is indeed a precursor to games going down the same road as WoW with players who want to play being required to subscribe. It is indeed a sad indictment on the developers ut the sad fact is they are there to make money and WoW has proven that ppl are willing to pay monthly to play a game.
Personally I believe paying monthly to play a game is ABSURD and you will not find me doing it UNLESS, at some point in the future, it is the only way to play games. The sad part about that is that it is likely going to happen. I will keep my ps3 though and that will ensure I don't get bored, especially with games this big!!!

You're a bunch of crybabies. Gaming is a business, do you get it? They're here to make money and it costs money to produce good games. See how many games come out when no one is making money working on them. The market is extremely efficient at setting price levels and as long as someone pays $49.99 for a game then that's what the game company is going to charge...period.
