Even with all the delightful new games on store shelves, we know you Borderlands addicts are still jonesing for more loot. Sure, it's not something you'd discuss with your family, but it's a disease, a terrible thirst that can only be slaked by DLC. MTV's got some more information on the first announced chunk, "The Zombie Island Of Doctor Ned."
The $9.99 island (due November 24 on PS3 and 360) is approximately as big as one of the smaller areas in the game and provides around four to six hours of gameplay, according to DLC design director Paul Helquist. Getting to the island and all the delicious new weapons within is a snap: You can teleport directly to the content after you buy it, and as long as you're level 10 or above the area will scale to you.
Hopefully that'll give you gear junkies enough info to stave off cravings until -- hey, are you licking the screen?!

This interview on Game Informers website mentions a level cap and other "demands" made by fans of this game.
http://gameinformer.com/b/news/archive/2009/11/12/gearbox-s-pitchford-talks-borderlands-dlc-more.aspx
The only problem I see with raising the level cap would be the need for more skills, which would require a lot of re-balancing. Kiss co-op goodbye with a friend that didn't get the DLC that raised the level cap.
I would like to see the level cap raised as well, but DLC like this that adds content and locations seems like the best route for Borderlands.

I kissed it goodbye after about 5 minutes of split-screen.

If they were so inclined, they could code the game to limit your cap back to 50 if you play co-op with people who don't have the cap increase; or they could make a free title update that raises the cap for everybody.
Either way, I hope they know people want a cap increase. I'm at lvl 42 and I'm feeling the ceiling falling on me.

I feel the same way. With a lvl 50 and a level 47 in the bag, I definitely want more to do with these characters. I still play co-op with 2 buddies through the second and 3rd play through (3rd is just for fun, no quests but lvl 50+ baddies) but we all want a level cap and more quests.
According to the interview, there will be more DLC and a level cap increase seems probable in the future. I love this game and the 2 friends I play with will buy the future DLC so scaling won't be an issue for us. I played almost exclusively co-op since that is my favorite way to play. The Zombie DLC is a no-brainer for us and I look forward to it.
I ripped through MW2 single player and, I know I am in the minority here but I have no interest in playing multi-player and I don't have much interest in any other games coming out until Mass Effect 2 in January. I just hope I can squeeze in a few more playthroughs of Borderlands and if I get bored, there is always Torchlight and my back catalog of console games I haven't 100% finished yet.

Joystiq, I think people are misunderstanding this contest...
4-6 hours seems like a semi-fair price.

Really? Did they have to use zombies? Can't we try something different guys? Maybe just go for mutants. Even Yetis would be refreshing at this point.

I think the kitsch that Borderlands offers up couldn't be done any better using something else. Zombies for the sake of zombies is what it is. I'd bet good money they know zombies are way overplayed these days -- and that's why they went with it.

Dear Joystiq, next time you try to hold a contest saying for people to be bad when commenting on certain articles, even though people tend to not read through entire aritcles and rely on the first paragraph or so, think twice about it, please?
Back on topic, I'm happy enemies at least scale to level. I'm level 50 and I was worried that it would cap at 30 or something.

It's good to know they're going to scale the levels with your character. Also, for ten bucks, four to six hours of gameplay is not bad at all. Now i'm really looking forward to this DLC.

This is the way first person shooters SHOULD be. It's so much more fun with loot and leveling!

Yeah considering every game ends DLC then busts out with a super cheap GOTY edition with all content for a fraction of the price.

You have to wait like an extra week... That's not being "shat on".

Hey guys, is this a good game? I don't like games with an RPG tag beside it mainly because it reminds me of those Final Fantasy games which I hate. Does this have a lengthy single-player? I'm not digging the "drawing" graphics, but does it bother you?

I really enjoy this game - the RPG elements involve equipment, you have 4 gun slots that open up, and then shield, mod and grenade, and talent trees. Fallout meets Diablo, i have heard said. The art style you get used to pretty quickly (at least, i did).

Gearbox said themselves that the PC was the definitive.
Sure is no PC DLC date in here.

I haven't been able to play this game since I finished it. The ending really ruined any motivation I might have for a second playthrough.

I look forward to this DLC! I can wait for the PC release, even with the bugs, after tweaking, the game is a lot of fun, tho i do with for FOV to stay at 90, and not have to hit the button, but whatever.
I really like the Dr., seeing more of him is great.
