Ahem, that said, the latest multiplayer trailer for Battlefield: Bad Company 2 above, serves to remind us of all the good times we had the first time around. It also, unfortunately, serves to remind us that the second game still isn't out for another three months. Luckily, some of you will get to enjoy the multiplayer beta starting today. Do us all a favor, folks -- shell the snipers!

It was on the back on the pre-order voucher from Gamestop ... sure enough it started at exactly 9pm ... there was a small patch that unlocked the servers so to speak.

I like sniping only if the other team can't find me.
I swear, these guys must have a heartbeat monitor b/c the last round, I got my ass killed 4 times in a row, no matter what direction I approached or behind whatever piece of cover I was behind. They simply kept finding me. =(
I'm not sure if it's lag or anything either, but one guy I shot in the head, didn't register, maybe b/c it was only about 30-40 ft away.
But yeah, sniping is this game is alot more fun than in COD at least.

While Battlefield BC2 is one game I'm DEFINITELY buying, no way in hell ANYTHING is better than TF2. The PC version I mean, I wouldn't TOUCH the console versions with a 50 meter stick(I'm in the US, but Yard/Gallon/Mile/Ounce/Pound can suck it)

I am LOVING the BC2 beta. So much fun. It's really intense, and I love that there is a little reward badge for almost everything cool you do. (ten total headshots, three revenge kills, etc.) It really makes you feel special...

It'd be alot more intense if the scoring system was working for me. All these medic points vanish at the end of the round. Instead of counting my score up from zero (at the bottom left) it counts it from -1000 to zero.
Hopefully it's just because the servers are slammed. I keep getting some points late for dropping med packs or whatever.

@johnny: Well that totally blows since you can't switch teams. If your team just sucks round after round, you will never get points and get better weapons. Eventually the community would end up split 50/50, with failures remaining failures forever.
I really hope you're wrong. No game ever punishes losers that bad.

The Battlefield series has generally used a system where you earn DOUBLE the points in the round if your team wins. If you lose, you only earn the amount you got in the round. As for why you have negative points, you might want to get on EA/DICE's website and ask them about that.

The game is awesome. I'm on the beta and the surround sound system and the 52" HD graphics make you feel like you're at an actual mini-war more than any game. A lot of shit flying around the attention to detail is amazing. If I may, I think Bad Company 2 has the best console graphics to date. What sucks, though, are the draw distances. When you're sniping, the graphics "pop up" and you'll need to aim directly on the enemy for his character and the surrounding environment to load.

The game is certainly incredible but I'd personally still give the nod to Uncharted 2 or Killzone 2 for console graphics.

The only thing that looked awful is when you hit a fence with your knife....the resulting leftover remnants look laughably crude.
But otherwise, it looks just as good as BC1 (and prolly better).
