Holy cow, I've never seen Darth so in the hole. Mac's market share isn't shrinking, but it isn't huge either. The stupid fanboyism of both sides aside, why anyone would fight for a continued monolithic structure in any industry will always amaze me. Windows is better for having Mac to compete against and vice versa. Xbox is better for having Playstation to compete against and vice versa. Ford is better for having Toyota, General Mills is better for having Kelloggs, AT&T is better for having Verizon, etc.

For all the Windows fanboys, if you think Windows 7 would have happened without OS X existing, you're an idiot. For all the Mac fanboys, if you think OS X would have happened without Windows existing, you too are an idiot.

That actually looks pretty good. Looks like I'll be trading in the Wii version before I even play it and gameflying the 360 version.

So a game that hasn't been released yet in Japan has already been confirmed for the US and is on Gamefly right now? Sweet.

Hey tmac,

I know how you don't like motion controls that are there just for the sake of being there and feel forced (who does?), and obviously it will look better on the 360, but visuals aside, I would suggest sticking with the Wii version or at least giving it a try. The motion controls are actually really great in this game and it's one of the few that really gets it right. It adds to the game. It actually feels great doing some of the special moves and never feels forced.

Controls in a game do nothing for me as long as they're not terribad like RE 5. Motion controls do even less for me, whether they're "good" or not because I'm a practical man. For example, if you swing your arm to swing a sword, instead of being impressed I end up asking "Why couldn't I just hit a button for that?"

Oh, so you just flat out don't care for motion controls? I thought you just didn't like it when they felt tacked on. Never mind then. You'd probably just prefer the 360 version then. Fair enough. I'm curious myself to see how it turns out.

The motion controls in NMH are novel for about 5 minutes. The first time you cut someone's head off is awesome. Unfortunately they become wrist wrecking and utterly tedious for the next 10 hours or however long it takes to beat it. I wouldn't know because it bored me into a coma so I sold it about halfway through.

I gotta agree with D-5, tmac. Are you honestly going to trade in a game for another one that isn't even out yet in Japan and may never come out here?

Hell, this version of the game won't even be out until a month after Desperate Struggle hits here in the states.

everyone talks about the whole motion sensing stuff that is gonna be missed about NMH. What i will miss is the use of the wiimote speaker. seriously. best part of the game is your controler ringing and then have sylivia talk to you. it was very cute and immersive use of the wiimote. hope it does well it on the newer platforms can't have suda not making his quirky games.

Don't tell anyone, but tmac is being "subtle" now. He's pretending he owns a Wii and plays games for it, but he trolls just as much as before.

You're an idiot. I've repeatedly said I'm not getting a Wii until Christmas but I've been prepping for it. I already have 8 games that unfortunately just sit here. Just because I don't see the purpose of motion controls (really, there isn't any) doesn't mean I'm trolling.

Well, since we are off topic...

The Windows 7 upgrade process will scan, grab and backup any files that you tell it to. It'll dump these to a different partition or even an external HDD. Once the update is installed you can easily tell it to go get those files and it'll put them back to where they were found. It IS easy, despite what the commercials say.

And with ANY major OS upgrade anyone who does an in-place upgrade over a fresh install is just asking for trouble.

If you think that Mac OS never has these troubles try upgrading from OS9 to OSX or from the older PowerPC OSX to the OSX for Intel chips. I own Macs and PCs and this upgrade cycle for Windows 7 is the most painless from either camp.

You've obviously never used the Mac OS X Migration Assistant, Phil. You can boot up a new Mac, plug your old Mac in using an ethernet or FireWire cable, and it will transfer over all user accounts, network and system settings, files, application preferences and even application programs. When you're done and log in, you can't tell the difference between the old one and the new one, it's like you never upgraded. Mac OS X also lets you do this when doing a clean OS install, it's called an "Archive and Install" and gives you the option of importing the same user data I mentioned above to the new install. Or you can run the Migration Assistant manually at any time, it's located in the Utilities folder.

Do yourself a favor and STFU about all this Mac shit. Mac's exist in Apple's effort to try to make people more technologically ignorant & rape their wallets (willingly on their part...so maybe it's "consensual") by charging twice as much for an equivalent pc.

Also this fallacy that macs are "great for graphics design & recording music" is dumb. Since it seems that Apple is playing on that, it would seem to me that they are basically saying that graphics artists & musicians are stupid.

This was a pretty good game. Bought it used for about $15. Full price, not so sure its worth it though. I loved the fighting. Mostly button mashing with motion control for final blows. I just hated having to do side jobs to earn money to unlock the next level. That messed up the momentum for me.

I might've felt that way if I paid $15 dollars but I hated this game so much, it got me renting again.
Now they "fixed" the one thing I actually appreciated about the game: the weird look. Now it's just going to be a tedious grind of a game that looks like every other game.
I was hoping that if they were going to fix anything it would be the draw distance, repetitive controls, the boring sandbox, or the mind numbingly pedantic minigames.

YES! I'm so excited for this game. The first NMH was so original and funny, but the Wii controls didn't add much to the gameplay so I'm glad to see it coming to HD consoles soon.
