Our absolute favorite thing about the Zelda series is how much it saves us on strategy guides. See, you can pretty much follow the walkthrough for Link to the Past to beat every installment in the franchise released thereafter. (Get the sword! Get the shield! Beat the Forest Temple! Get the power bracelet! Beat the Fire Temple!) However, in a recent interview with Official Nintendo Magazine, series producer Eiji Aonuma revealed that we can expect some big changes from the franchise's next iteration -- changes which he hopes will be revealed during next year's E3 showcase.
Aonuma explained that, in order to try and keep the series fresh, he and Shigeru Miyamoto "have been trying something new in terms of the structure of the Wii version of the new Zelda game this time." You know what that means. They're going to put the Fire Temple before the Forest Temple. We're kidding, of course -- that's just crazy talk.

I believe there are a few puzzles in the fire temple that require shooting those diamond shaped eye targets...although I could just be misremembering.

If you played through the forest temple enough just to get the bow, then you could go through almost all the other temples. The only exceptions are you can't do the spirit or shadow temple until you beat the forest temple because sheik blocks the pedestal of time until you get the forest medallion.

The hookshot didn't work on the eye targets. Bombs did, but some of the targets were too high up to reach unless you threw them in just the right way. Plus, all the game hints directed you towards the forest temple, so while it was technically possible to save it for later it still counts as the first dungeon. Well, fourth dungeon, but you know what I mean. Come to think of it, OoT was pretty repetitive in terms of dungeon theme. Forest/Fire/Water-Forest/Fire/Water/Shadow/Spirit.
I thought Majora's mask was fairly different though. I mean, they had an ice temple instead of a fire temple. Plus the whole warping through time aspect.

Hmmm... Could that be the ghost Zelda from the DS adaptation?

I'm hopeful for this. I remember Nintendo saying before this year's E3 that they were focusing on games, and they did just that and had a decent show.
I expect great things to come from Wii Zelda. Very great things indeed.

I fear that in the dryspell of awesome Zelda, everyone will praise the over-the shoulder, Motion-Plus sword action, Nunchuck shielding, and overly-accurate (for an easy game) arrow shooting. Wait, actually, it doesn't sound that bad...

It will be good...at least it better be. How many years now have they had to make this game? Remember, TP was really a Gamecube game!

I'm all ready for a bold departure!
Even though Twilight Princess was great, I did feel it was a little 'all too similiar'.
Aonuma-san should also try focusing more on the sound department as well. Like give the game a full blown out orchestral soundtrack (It did wonders for Super Mario Galaxy!). And I wouldn't mind voice-acting as well. (Except don't make it something like Super Mario Sunshine's!)
