We hate to go all Howard Hughes on you guys, but we must admit: This touch-screen equipped arcade version of Cooking Mama fills every bone in our body with germophobic discomfort. That can partially be attributed to the fact that we've seen our fair share of filthy hands attached to the wrists of arcade dwellers. Then again, perhaps we just have a visceral, sickening reaction to seeing raw fish being prepared by the aforementioned unwashed digits. Gyyeeeuuuuhhh.
Check out some footage from the arcade port after the jump, then go ahead and cancel that reservation for Red Lobster. You won't be needing (or wanting) it any time soon.

Wow...an arcade game that isn't a fighter or a Sega product.

Red Lobster?
Well la-di-da, aren't we well paid editors.
I guess you're too good for a packet of sugar & peanut butter smeared on a playing card.

I spotted an arcade about a month ago in the middle of a huge gas station just off o' the interstate - can't remember if it was in Georgia or Tennessee. They'd converted the arcade into an arcade-slash-smoking room "to attract more arcade business," the cashier said... that didn't make any fucking sense to me, since they now had restricted the arcade to smokers 21 and over, and anyone who wants to smoke could walk about 100 feet from that spot and light one up outside (only posing a problem when you're about an hour into Pac-Man and fiending for nicotine, I guess).
Anyway...

When will this be in arcades? Is it Japan only, or will it be released in America too. More information would be nice as it is released. Thanks Joystiq!

The video is disappointing. The game looks really boring for an arcade game... why would I want to drive to a location to play this when the technology is readily available in a home or portable option? If they were going to make this game for the arcades, they should have at least made it unique enough to justify it being in the arcades and justify a pay-per-play payment structure with it's gameplay.

How is touching the screen any different from germy hands pushing buttons or gripping joysticks? All arcade games are germy, not just the touch screen ones.
