Okay gang, fun's over. We all had some good times with the few non-delayed Q4 2009 blockbusters that dropped during the past two weeks, but now it's time to start agonizing over every scrap of news for next year's highly anticipated titles. We'll kick things off: Hey, the StarCraft II site just received a major update, delivering a whole mess of feature articles and screenshots to the series' fast-clicking fanbase!
The articles include a short story about the ever-devious Zerg Changeling, a design overview of the campaign story, insight into creating one of the multiplayer maps, and character bios for three of the game's combatants. Are you adequately excited by these updates? Good. Now, prepare to not play the game for an undisclosed period of time. Yeah, it's all coming back to you now, isn't it?

Yeah, I'll believe that 2010 release when I see it on the shelf.
The only things worse than Valve Time are 3D Realms time (Read: Never) and Blizzard Time.

Because of the BattleNet overhaul, and how the new services will work, you will need to be able to log into your BNet acct to play. This doesn't mean you won't be able to play agains your buds in the same room, it just means they'll all need BNet accounts with a SC2 license.
It's sort of like Steam, or XBox Live.
The tradeoff is things like the new BNet friends/chat client across games and servers and acheivements.
Now, if Blizzz is smart, they'll take a page from the orignal SC 'spawn' copies. Friend buys SC2, you install it and create a BNet acct, and the two of you can play against each other via BNet, but you can't play anyone else till you get your own license.

Grendlash, I don't think you understand why people want LAN if your reasoning is that it's still there, but "you only need to be connected to the BattleNet and host a server through that to do so".
That isn't LAN AT ALL.

These always encounter delay after delay... but in the end it's all worth it.

This looks like it will be an amazing RTS! Now I just need to wait and see if my laptop supports it.
