
Sega is preparing a sequel to its App Store launch title,
Super Monkey Ball, due out sometime before the end of the year. According to
Touch Arcade, Super Monkey Ball 2 will add 115 new levels, multiplayer functions, and, perhaps most importantly, minigames. Monkey Bowling will be included in the download, with Monkey Golf and Monkey Target (also known as the greatest achievement in human history) to follow as free updates.
Okay, actually, while great, the minigames aren't the most important part of this sequel. That would be the improved controls, which may render this game playable. Check out Touch Arcade for gameplay footage!

one of the very few games that SHOULD work as well with the touch screen as it would with a stick or buttons.
the accelerometer not as good.. it might work great but you'd have to look at the game from directly above (they'd probably put a Wii like warning screen at the start telling you to take a 5 minute break after every 5 spent playing)

I wonder how much money they made with this game. I swear it was one of the highest grossing games on there.
Probably took 1-2 months to make with a dev team of 4 or something and managed to rake in heaps.

The first game had great controls, you guys must just be challenged.
Anyway, the worst part about the first game is that you had to beat all levels of a world consecutively before moving on. That means, levels 1-9 can be super easy, and if level 10 is difficult, you have to play through 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, and 9 before you get another shot at level 10. I still haven't made it to world 2. Honestly, if they patched this ridiculous feature, I'd really like the first iPhone Monkey Ball.
