Giving up MW2 for the weekend to get some work done. But Gyromancer is sure to be a big distraction.

Just beat Ninja Gaiden Sigma. The only game I have around that I haven't played through now is Red Faction: Guerilla, which I've been borrowing from a friend for a long time and haven't started. Maybe I'll play that to prolong having to spend cash on more games.

And work on my own game continues.

New Super Mario Bros Wii. I wasn't entirely thrilled at the very beginning, but i knew it was growing on me when i caught myself humming one of the world themes. Some really inventive theme-levels and boss fights, and some of the most awesome overworlds i've seen thus far

I can't wait to take a crack at World 9, but i got a lot of work to do before then. I'm only at Castle 7 now.

I just started my final Insanity run in Mass Effect in preparation for the sequel. I fucking hate that every single organic spams immunity like it's going out of style.

Still, it's a blast to play through. I hope that ME2 is balls to the walls crazy. I also hope that Bioware has learned to better animate their cutscenes, because after seeing these cutscenes over and over again, the cutscenes just appear awkward and not well put together.

I'm also glad that ME2 won't fall into the basic storyline mechanic that Bioware uses in EVERY SINGLE GAME. I love their games so much, but would it really kill them to try something different?

I've noticed that in Bioware games, they follow the same structure for their storylines. I haven't played Dragon Age, but from what I know about the story, I'd say it's similar. Basically, the protagonist is a person with exceptional promise but is otherwise rank and file. After a grand event with the main villain at the beginning of the game, they are quickly thrust into some sort of promotion that allows them higher access to get the job done (of saving the world). I'd say KoTOR follows this path less, only because it takes a while to become a Jedi/Sith, but the others seem to follow this formula pretty closely. It's not that big of a deal, but I definitely get a sense of deja vu whenever I play a Bioware game because of it.

I guess you could say that it's the same thing in most games, especially JRPGS likes the Tales of series. However and I don't know why, honestly, the deja vu effect is less when playing a Tales of game than a Bioware game.

Do note that I've only played Jade Empire, KoTOR, and Mass Effect. So, I guess I was over-exaggerating when I said every game...

That's not just Bioware games, that's every single sci-fi/fantasy epic in the history of mankind.

Which is even more reason for them to break the trend. I know Bioware is more than capable of writing a story that doesn't fall into the same pattern as other generic SF. They did it in the Mass Effect novels, so I don't see why they can't do it in the games.

wow you're right, I guess i never really noticed that, but then, like WRE said that's pretty much true for any sci fi thing. Off the top of my head the only sci fi hero i can think of without deep thought that doesnt fit that is Ellen Ripley

I'll be playing some Dawn of War 2, Dragon Age and maybe trying to finish up the last part of AC 1.

But I'll probably just end up playing a lot of Borderlands. Add me on XBL, I'm having trouble finding people around 25-30 for the loot filled fun. My handle is JohnnyKale.

So many games to play, so little time. Where should I begin?

OK... Modern Warfare 2 spec ops, finishing Brutal Legend, God of War Collection, Ratchet and Clank Future: A crack in time, and New Super Mario Brothers Wii.

I just finished playing NSMBWii with my buddies and man is it a blast! Four people is a bit much, but three is just perfect.

I got Shatter form PSN and was surprised to discover Fernando is a beast at that game, I just can't beat his scores...

Also got Critter Crunch which is great and Mario&Luigi 3 which is even better. I'm also playing NSMBW with my bro and it's better than I expected.

Umm...not much, sadly. I'm out of town.

Quick thought, though. I just noticed my original copy of KotOR (purchased new) is the Greatest Hits version, but it's in a green case...not silver.

What's up with that?

Borderlands for me. I have a pile (literally like 25 games) waiting to be played, but as finals and such are approaching the gameplay of Borderlands works. If I don't pick it up for a week I don't forget story and it is immediately gratifying.

Get the piece of paper in four weeks, so gaming here I come!
