Yeah but if it's just a straight port with prettier graphics it won't matter. It seems like people think the only aspect the Wii lags behind is graphics, which isn't true. Scale, AI, Sound, etc etc.

Pretend Dead Rising never came out on 360 and was Wii only, and people wanted it on 360/ps3. We all know how gimped the Wii version was, and we would have gotten that verision but with prettier graphics.

This game is already great, though. Pretty graphics are just icing on the cake.

i agree. the title is confusing because it sounds like the information in the article is in direct conflict with the headline... :/

Shouldn't the title be "Xbox 360 release of No More Heroes may be UNcensored in Japan"?

But doesn't Japan release a fervor of Hentai porn games? There's no problem with the Tentacle Rape games, but blood and gore is where we cross the line?

The game would still be released. The problem is that NMH would be on the same shelf as the hentai tentacle rape games. You can't sell NMH to teenagers, if its behind a red curtain.

yeah, what tmac said. rape is really pushing it, but i still don't understand how blowing a dude's head off with a shotgun is more acceptable than seeing a naked lady.

I don't think the Z rating is as restrictive as you think. Wikipedia's entry for CERO says, "Games rated Z include Assassin's Creed, Dead Rising, The Godfather, Fable II, Fallout 3 and Left 4 Dead 2. " The entry for bishojo games also says that *no* pornographic content is allowed in console games, while PC games have a separate rating system for such games.

They're looser about sexual content than we are, and we're looser about violent content than they are. I think I like their way of thinking more (better to see the outsides of women, than their insides, heh!)

Plus, there's no eroge on game consoles; it's all restricted to PCs. And, as such, don't require a CERO rating.

I am not sure how the rating system works in Japan, but I have seen a lot of Anime and some series have the most violent blood and guts of anything I have seen in my life. I don't know if Anime and video games are rated differently, but I can't imagine that it would be that much different. With that said, it is a little surprising that they would have an issue with blowing off head/limbs whatever. If you have ever seen Gantz, you know what I am talking about. So, to say that Japan is okay with porn versus blood and guts I find kinda odd. Maybe it is because it is interactive versus just sitting back and watching?

The Japanese version was only censored because Japan will not allow blood, gore, or decapitations unless you want to sell your game on the Z rating (Japanese equivalent to American Adults Only or European banning). I think the European version was censored because Manhunt 2 was banned and Suda51 once said in an interview that he wanted his game to be more violent than Manhunt 2. Maybe someone just overreacted to the banning and took such measures. Least NMH2 will come in both Censored and Uncensored versions.

Actually, this kind of makes sense. Only the "hardcore" would want the uncensored version of the game, and the XBox 360 already has a track record in Japan of being the console that the really hardcore gamers own. So few Japanese people own one, and [a subset of] those who do are the niche crowd that are really, deeply into video games. That's why Cave's scrolling shooters have only been ported to the XBox 360. So, if you're the kind of Japanese consumer who wants a copy of NMH that has the blood and gore intact, then you probably already have an XBox 360 and would do the research to discover that that's the version which is uncensored.

*SPOILERS FOR NO MORE HEROES 2*

*SERIOUSLY DON'T LOOK AT THIS UNLESS YOU WANT TO BE SPOILED FOR A CERTAIN BOSS BATTLE IN ONE OF THE GREATEST SEQUELS EVER*

*SERIOUSLY, THINK ABOUT IT*

The weird thing is that I don't think Destructoman got sliced in two in the censored versions, yet the two halves are actually brought back in the sequel as a two-on-one fight where his two sliced half's have robotic/prosthetic half's where they got sliced. Shinobu fight's 'em.

*END AWESOME GAME SPOILERS*

"CERO Z-rated games often don't get displayed on shelves"

To be precise, CERO Z games are displayed on shelves.
Where everyone can see them.
For example, GTA IV, FO3 are Cero-Z games,
but I saw them displayed at where its really easy to see.
I guess its because they were really famous games.
But some stores place them in a "Cero-Z" corner.
Like a "only for adults" corner.
