We know how boring most holly jolly holiday cards can be, so we were glad to see that a handful of Valve-ified greeting cards are now available for purchase at the game maker's online store. Featuring characters from Left 4 Dead, Left 4 Dead 2, and Team Fortress 2 in compromising holiday situations, there's no doubt that we'll actually – finally – send out greeting cards this year to everyone in our little black book. We're quite partial to the handful of TF2-themed images you see above (just look at The Spy, back with The Scout's mother!), but we're sure there's something for everyone in your list of Source Engine-loving holiday card receivers.

The spy was hilarious. I sent it to my mum.

That's... a strange card to send to your mother...
But very appropriate, if you catch my drift. *wink*

Speaking of, the new Engadget site is HAWT. Any chance of Joystiq undergoing two overhauls in one year?

That would be awesome. Maybe they'll do a free weekend/christmas theme in december, like they did for halloween?

Might be too early for me to have any Christmas cheer, I'm not really feeling any of these cards. The L4D ones seem particularly... bland, I guess? It's kind of: there's a charger, he's doing christmasy stuff like you or I might. That's out of character, I suppose.
Some of the TF2 stuff was a bit clever at least, but I'm starting to feel that Valve has gone from influencing meme humor to simply incorporating it.

I hope they'll get a new Meet The video by Christmas, at least.
Bonk.

Or another Valentine's Day card that you could send to your wife/gf with "the spitter" on it...

I was wondering how I could encapsulate "Hi, I'm a huge fucking nerd with no sense of when something's been run into the ground!" in a card. Thanks!

Sorry to go a little OT, but does anyone know if HL2:Ep3 is actually going to see the light of day? Or has it been quietly axed? I know Valve's riding the L4D cash cow, but the whole "six months between releases" thing for HL2 episodes should have brought us Ep3 about, what ... two years ago?
