Black Wii, holiday demand lead to big sales boost in Europe

Weak dollar is why you won't see it this holiday. Stronger Euro/GBP means they make more selling their limited supply in Europe than here.

You could take it two ways, either a dad losing his chance to get a Wii for his kids this holiday season or grabbing the crotch of a black male. Considering us on Joystiq, we'll just automatically go for the latter situation. : )

They've been selling black Wii Remotes and Nunchucks in NA for at least a few weeks now...

Exactly the same use as a white console with white accessories.

My launch Wii came with a Nunchuck, have they since stopped including them?

Sorry, I was referring to buying extra ones and how you have to puchase the nunchuck and wiimote separately, but I see how you got that.

Oddly enough, they might excuse themselves by saying "Not every game needs a Nunchuk."..

...and it's true. There are a good number of games that don't use Nunchuks. And oddly enough, there's some good games that don't use Nunchuks.

It is true that you don't need to use the nunchuck for every game, but even something like both Wii Sports titles, require the nunchuck and wiimote in order to play all of the games on the discs.

I actually prefer them being sold separately. That way, I buy 1 extra of both (for two player games that require the nunchuck) and 2 extra remotes for the occasional 4 player game that doesn't (NSMBW, for example).

Anyways, I'm not saying it was a bad business move, it's just that usually we get stuff first or at least second to Japan. Europe is the one usually left out in the cold..

clearly recently the EU base is begin given more attention than we are. Ever wondered why some games had been released on japan and eu and not in america????

Okay I really have no idea what point you're attempting to make here..

What I said was that Europe being favored over North America feels odd because Japan pretty much comes first in everything game-related and North America usually comes second. Europe and Australia and everyone else are usually the ones getting screwed over. For example: The PS3 came to Europe 4 months after NA and Japan due to a shortage of parts; notice that Sony chose to ship their limited supply to NA before Europe or anywhere else. Hell, the Wii itself came to NA a month before either Japan or Europe.

Onechanbara on PS2? That's a Japanese exclusive series, not European..

Disaster: Day Of Crisis? Yeah it came out in Europe before NA but by like two weeks..

I have no idea what game about a girl and her past you're thinking of..

And lastly, Fatal Frame 4 is also a JAPANESE exclusive; it was never and probably will never be released in Europe..
