Capcom: 'No plans' for RE5 DLC on PC
When the new "Gold Edition" content for Capcom's oh-my-god-get-it-off-me-em-up, Resident Evil 5, was announced for consoles, PC players were feeling left outside the Spencer Mansion. G4 got in touch with Capcom to find out why the PC version wasn't listed as a platform for the new episodes and costumes, to which Capcom responded it had "no plans for PC at this point."
The snub strikes us as odd, considering Capcom's continued support for its biggest games -- including Street Fighter IV, Bionic Commando and even RE5 -- on the PC platform throughout this year and into 2010 with Lost Planet 2, Dark Void and Dead Rising 2. What's the matter, Capcom -- did the extras train derail at Weird Costume Gulch?

Oh, a Dark Lord of the Sith is a 'meanie'
Are you sure you still aren't in the first grade? That's the last time I remember people using that term.
It's sad that the PC guys are getting the shaft. Why, Capcom?

As a "g", the poor thing only got up to a 3rd grade education Darth Bradwart.

The game is a Games for Windows LIVE title, just make the DLC available on the Windows LIVE marketplace just like the Xbox LIVE marketplace.
It's cool to snub the PC, you do that to the consoles, your fucked.
It is strange considering Capcom is a strong PC supporter, especially from a Japanese developer and they gave the PC version some exclusive content.
Be honest Capcom, if its because of the pirates, I'll be super pissed.
smcn @ Nov 23rd 2009 2:31PM
Yeah I love the "it's because of pirates" line, because getting no money is better than losing 5 sales to people who would have bought it but pirated instead.
People who pirate do not buy games.

i hate pirates. do you remeber a few yeers ago we has to deel wit dat drm shit. it was terible. dey still has dat stuff wit gta4 and sims 3 and a lot of other games. dats why i like valve and other game develpers dat focus on pc games like dragon age origins becuz dey still care about da pc and pc gamers.
RKN (Steam ID: nerdydesi) @ Nov 23rd 2009 2:41PM
Despite your atrocious grammar, "g", if you like PC gaming, your okay in my book.
: )
I wish I could have a chat with the pirates, asking them if they mind the PC missing out on games, DLC, etc. because of their actions. They think what they do doesn't hurt the PC market that much, but now it is. I wanna ask them if PC gaming died because of them, would they move to consoles and just pirate those games?

"I wanna ask them if PC gaming died because of them, would they move to consoles and just pirate those games?"
my guess is duh.

After that, pirating mobile games, then finally resorting to stealing a hula hoop from the old lady next door and pushing it with a stick.
Come on Capcom, just tell us straight up why you won't do it. Ubisoft said the reason the PC version of Prince of Persia wouldn't get the "Epilouge" DLC the console versions did was because of "business reasons". Please, stop beating around the fucking bush.
IW didn't have to say "Fuck PC gamers", we already know that loud and clear.
RKN (Steam ID: nerdydesi) @ Nov 23rd 2009 2:57PM
There's already great ways to distribute DLC on the PC, Steam, Games for Windows LIVE, etc.
Perhaps selling DLC on the PC is much harder than the console because of piracy and community made mods? PC gamers think of paying for DLC as going backwards, while with console owners, that's the only way they can extend the life of a game so they are more than happy to open up their wallets.

Stupid Capcom. : (

we all know the old story, first let´s milk the console users, 6 months later we milk the pc users, that´s how it works. Piracy is causing people not to buy games for the p.c. ?????yeah right, just ask to this guy:
Wardell estimates, 25 percent of PC platform sales will come from digital distribution channels during 2009's calendar year, so we're talking billions of dollars here.
or this guy:
manager Robert "fourzerotwo" Bowling revealed that, "The PC version of Modern Warfare 2 has actually outsold the PC version of Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare in its [sic] first week. Making it the most successful PC version."
or even capcom itself who was very satisfied with the sales of street figther on the pc.
so, at the end is not piracy is just the way companies work plain simple....
RKN (Steam ID: nerdydesi) @ Nov 23rd 2009 3:58PM
The PC version did come out months later the console version, I hope we'll just have to wait months later unlike so many cases where the PC version misses out on DLC entirely.
blerg @ Nov 23rd 2009 4:01PM
one word for this: bullshit
thats some bullshit right there.
BruniBrun @ Nov 23rd 2009 5:26PM
I think it's good news.
Poor poor PCbros.
>:3
Rawrmander @ Nov 23rd 2009 6:32PM
I also think its good news.
Use your money grubbing schemes on the ConsoleBros. We know it's a waste of cash, which is the reason it doesn't make money, not because of pirates.
:3
RKN (Steam ID: nerdydesi) @ Nov 23rd 2009 7:08PM
Even though a lot of this DLC is used to milk and nickel and dime the poor, gullible console gamers, I'd still like it on the PC just to show they support the platform.
BruniBrun @ Nov 23rd 2009 7:06PM
D-d-damn!
Oh well...
At least it has more Jill...
Malmer @ Nov 24th 2009 3:02AM
Well that surely sucks.
Eh. Less money for them.
