Nintendo launching Limited Edition DSi bundles featuring Mario, 'brain teaser' DSiWare packs
This Black Friday, November 27, Nintendo will release DSi bundles containing pre-installed software to the value of $20. The metallic blue DSi bundle (a new color for the States) will feature Mario-themed DSiWare, while the white is for those with "a passion for brain teasers."

- Blue version: Mario vs. Donkey Kong: Minis March Again!, Dr. Mario Express, WarioWare: Snapped!, Mario Calculator and Mario Clock.
- White version: Brain Age Express: Arts & Letters, Brain Age Express: Sudoku, Brain Age Express: Math, Clubhouse Games Express: Card Classics, Photo Clock.
There is no altered price to go with the announcement of these bundles, so we're guessing the units will retail at the normal $170 price. Of course, it is Black Friday, so check various retailers for the best deals.

I believe GameStop has a deal on these. That's where I first saw these bundles.

Nope, never mind. Standard 169.
False @ Nov 23rd 2009 12:30PM
I believe Best Buy is also throwing in a $20 gift card with purchase, so they'll be the ones to get this bundle from.
skyzbig @ Nov 23rd 2009 9:45AM
Is it me, or have Nintendo taken a leaf out of Sony's PS3 slim packaging?
Or has it always been like that?
Cypher @ Nov 23rd 2009 9:47AM
Aw, I want the white version with the Mario content.
*sigh*
Paper @ Nov 23rd 2009 2:57PM
Those "titles" count as games?
Aero @ Nov 23rd 2009 9:53AM
Shouldn't the Mario version be red?
Darth Bradwart, The Dark Lord of the Sith-ATDF Co-Founder @ Nov 23rd 2009 9:58AM
Last years DSLite bundle was red.
Brysonial the Bison @ Nov 23rd 2009 6:35PM
RED! RED! Thats the most random colour you could possibly think of, its not even like the main portion of mario's costume is red!
wait a minute....

A useful move to boost awareness of the DSi's expanded capabilities, at any rate.
Orchard Pear @ Nov 23rd 2009 9:54AM
Ohmygod.
Mario Calculator and Clock?!
Bought.
MowDownJoe @ Nov 23rd 2009 12:47PM
It's the other stuff in that bundle that makes me want it. The Mario Calculator is just icing on the cake.
Jesus (PSN: Luttdawg) @ Nov 23rd 2009 9:56AM
The blue one seems to have way better stuff on it.
bongoes Sector 2814 @ Nov 23rd 2009 2:56PM
It seems to, because it does.
Josh @ Nov 23rd 2009 9:59AM
I'm not gonna lie, I might actually like to have that metallic blue Mario bundle. I thought it would just be a bundle with New Super Mario Bros. or something, but bundling it with DSiWare is better since I already have that game.
The metallic blue color looks nice, too. I think this would make for a nice Christmas morning, heh.
Then again, with DS2 possibly coming out late next year, and DSiWare kind of... meh, I'm not sure if there's much of a reason to get a DSi. On the other hand, my DS Lite's touch screen is pretty scratched up, so......
Adv2k1 @ Nov 23rd 2009 10:32AM
DSi XL is coming next year for sure.
DS2 is totally up in he air when that's coming.
c-murph @ Nov 23rd 2009 10:29AM
YAY~!
NERV @ Nov 23rd 2009 12:19PM
FUCK!!!!! I've been waiting to get a dsi until the limited editions came out like the the ds ones last year but blue! I fucking hate blue! Guess I'll just stop afer work and pickup a black one.
SoshiKitai @ Nov 23rd 2009 5:59PM
This man fucking hates blue. FUCK!
NERV @ Nov 23rd 2009 6:42PM
It goes much fucking deeper than hatred......FUCK!!!
False [A Trusted BF Source] @ Nov 23rd 2009 12:43PM
Completely torn on which one to get. I'd geek out over the Mario clock and calendar, but the Brain Age bundles are great time wasters in-between classes. Probably won't be able to decide until I reach the store.

OmerMe @ Nov 23rd 2009 1:39PM
But..But.. I like those games that come with the blue DSi and I really dislike the blue DSi. :[
Well, doesn't really matter since I want to get a DSiXL and not a DSi.
Balloonfighter99 @ Nov 23rd 2009 2:31PM
Just once I wish they would think about the early adobters.
KeegdnaB @ Nov 23rd 2009 2:38PM
Metallic Blue?
bout damn time
Dragod @ Nov 23rd 2009 4:58PM
While this entices me, I only use my DS for Pokémon, so I have no reason to upgrade. I suppose the larger screen would be nice, but not worth the $170.
BPMOmega [XBL, PSN, Steam] @ Nov 23rd 2009 6:52PM
Oh, hot damn. I love that shade of blue. I liked the blue one we already got... but I really dig darker shades more than lighter ones.
Covnam @ Nov 24th 2009 1:09AM
Finally, a DSi with a color I want with free stuff on it, and I'll probably have to pass w/ the XL coming out even though there probably wont be a good blue version for quite a while.
Espiownage @ Nov 24th 2009 8:57AM
My local Frys store actually had the Mario bundles in today, so that was all I needed to see to know that the Best Buy ad leak wasn't lying.
JaimesMomma @ Dec 2nd 2009 7:15PM
I'm confused~What is the difference between DSi and DSlite? This is what I want for my son------------------>DSi Mario Metalic Blue Bundle or DSi Black Bundle w/ Mario Kart! What's the best of the 2 and if I don't get a bundle then what is better?-------------->> DSi or DSlite? I can't even get these freakin Mario bundles on Wal-Mart.com or anywhere! I Don't wanna get the wrong thing! Enlighten me! Thanx:)
KenjiFox @ Dec 16th 2009 10:12AM
You want to get the DSi for sure.
The DSi is the newest model of DS. It has a whole new menu system as well as built in memory to store downloadable games and other files.
It has two cameras one to take photos of others, while the other points at you.
It has 16mb of ram vs 4.(four times as much!) It also has a CPU at 133 mhz vs. the 66mhz CPU in the lite. (two times as much)
Another thing is that it has an SD card slot and hardware AAC decoder... so you can use it as an MP4 player. (music) It has larger LCD screens, higher quality and louder audio hardware... It has two free DSi ware softwares available so far, with more to come.
So far there is the Opera web browser, and Flip note studio. (web browser and flip book style animation software)
The only thig they "lack" vs a ds lite is the old GBA (Gameboy Advance) cartridge slot. They removed this to save space... the DSi is thinner even with all the new stuff.
Your son will love a DSi, they are endless fun. :)
JaimesMomma @ Dec 17th 2009 12:35AM
Wow! I am surprised to get a reply, and I thank you so much for all the info~Amazing and you have "enlightened" JaimesMomma! Thanx again & I am no longer a DS "dummy"~LOL! Merry Christmas:)
