This past week has been one long LittleBigDisappointment for early PSP Go adopters due to unforeseen technical snafus which prevented SCE Studio Cambridge's adorable platformer from jumping onto the PSN. Fortunately, the latest "Sack it to Me" news update brings word that the game will finally be available to download tomorrow, Tuesday, Nov. 24.
Perhaps even more newsworthy than that is the fact that the studio has already launched a patch for the title which "will improve the performance of some of the physics and tools in the Create mode." To download the game-specific update -- a fairly new feature on the handheld -- make sure you're connected to the internet, select the game's icon on the XMB, press Triangle, and select "Update." Now, sit back, and prepare to witness unthinkable technowizardry in the palm of your hand. Or hands, should you still be using the original double-wide PSP.

Yeah, no shit. Patches for handheld games now...fan-fuckin-tastic.
It's gotten so when I pop in a new 360 or PS3 game I clench my teeth in anticipation of the inevitable "Update Found!" message to appear.
Back to cartridges!

If only 5th Cell would crawl out from under their mountain of money and patch Scribblenauts with some decent controls. I don't like developers who rely on patches, but sometimes they are direly needed all the same.
And LittleBigPlanet is a platform that lives on patches, so this is not surprising.

Well I guess I can expect to see people playing this on their Go's in the Gamestop line come Black Friday.

I've seen Gamestop's ad for Black Friday and its 99% garbage, so I'll be playing it at home while checking up occasionally on Amazon's hot-ass sales.

I completely agree and I'm actually not going to be purchasing anything. I'm going with a friend and he's going to be purchasing the PS3 bundle w/LBP and GOW 1&2. Shall be sweet as we're having a Mario Kart and Magic tourney w/mexican hot chocolate and pan dulce!

I'm annoyed that they allow patches - it just encourages sloppy programming and games being released too soon.

Agree with Sly. I hope it just doesn't turn into- "Let's just use another 1.2 gbs of the persons memory card to guarantee their product works."

so many good games out, and it's even better that i had a launch PSP so i could get the cfw, although i did have to make a pandora battery =/.

FYI: In most cases, developers don't decide when a game is released. The executives at the publishing company do (based on where they need a game to land in their fiscal years).
I'm all for the ability to patch PSP games, as long as they're utilized.

Been playing LBP PSP all week now and it's awesome, except it has crashed my PSP on me when connecting to the internet a few times. Screen goes blank and I hear a sackboy crying somewhere.
Also still trying to find a single reason a gamer would buy a PSP GO. No luck yet. All the internal memory in the world can't help you when 3 year old games are still $20 on PSN when they're in the $5 bargain bin at Best Buy.
