MvC2 isn't popular because of its (lack of) balance or production value. The game is a shitload of fun and easy to pick up. Of course it could be fun and balanced, but why fix something that isn't broken when there are plenty of games out there to satisfy the hardcore fighting gamers?

Monster Hunter doesn't do big sales in the west largely because it's on the wrong platforms. if they made it for 360/PS3 (instead of the Wii- which doesn't have a large market for JRPG's in the west) and maybe the DS instead of the PSP (which has remained a fringe-player in the west since it released), then this franchise could maybe have a chance at mainstream success. the portable market in the west is not the same as it is in Japan- portables are largely associated with children (instead of the urban train-riding adult of Japan). there are certainly exceptions- i'm not calling PSP/DS fans children- but in general, the big-selling third-party games in the west this gen tend to come out on 360/PS3.

I play Monster Hunter on the PSP, and I shudder to think what it would play like on the DS. No thank you. Seriously though: Wii? Why the hell would they alienate their fanbase? Monster Hunter: PS2, Monster Hunter G: PS2 (Japan), Monster Hunter 2: PS2 (Japan), ALL portable Monster Hunter titles: PSP.... So wouldn't fans of the series have expected them to make a PS3 version? I did when I got my launch PS3. I'm still extremely bitter about this.

if they want Monster Hunter to succeed they need to bring it out on the dominating software platforms here in the west... a PS360 release would be well appreciated
