Tesla guitarist reveals 'Modern Day Cowboy' headed for Guitar Hero 6
Rockers of the classic '80s band Tesla claim to be included in the yet-to-be announced (but you totally saw it coming) Guitar Hero 6. In an interview with Brave Words & Blood Knuckles, guitarist Dave Rude revealed "Modern Day Cowboy" -- from the band's 1986 debut album Mechanical Resonance -- will be included in the music title. Rude noted the song was one of three suggestions the band made to Activision when they were pursued to be included.
While some (completely talentless) acts have decried the popularity of music games such as Guitar Hero, Rude feels the genre is an important step for up-and-coming rockers. "I think it's a good thing," Rude said. "Even if people don't learn to play guitar, it's exposing them to all sorts of cool guitar-based music that they wouldn't have ever heard otherwise." You hear that Kroeger? Stop crying ... and writing the same song over and over and over again.

Buy Activision.. just don't get persuaded by their smooth talk into making a Battarang peripheral game!!

Can we stop with the feigned outrage with every new music game announced? Just be glad as a consumer you have your choice of many games. In Russia games have choice of you.
Nap @ Nov 24th 2009 12:09AM
Considering what they did with Guitar Hero 5, I'm excited to see what GH:VI has in store. You know, you didn't HAVE to buy everything between World Tour and GH5.. since all the band titles were on GH:WT's engine just with different artwork, if you compare the GH:WT to GH5 there really is a great improvement.
Filthy Assistant @ Nov 24th 2009 1:09AM
5's graphics and animation really were great.
The track list and charting, on the other hand...
Crayfish @ Nov 24th 2009 2:58AM
God, if they'd just fix the charting I'd be more than happy to drink the Activision kool aide again.
I know charting is a subjective opinion, but I just don't enjoy playing the majority of the new GH songs as much, at least compared to GH1 and GH2 as well as that other Rhythm game title.
Filthy Assistant @ Nov 24th 2009 6:32AM
Saturday Night's Alright for Fighting was the most unfun piece of shit ever. Too bad, since I like the song.

What, the potential announcement of a new game?
Darth Bradwart, The Dark Lord of the Sith-ATDF Co-Founder @ Nov 24th 2009 12:12AM
Not a bad choice.
But I will only buy another music game if it says "Rock Band/Guitar Hero: Foreigner".
Harmonix, Activision...GET BUSY.

I used to support this series; I bought GHWT instead of RB2, but they had nothing but crap DLC, and then not even a year after the game being out, they drop support for GHWT DLC completely. So, in short, fuck GH. There's no reason to support this antiquated series anymore. RB has or will have the majority of the songs worth playing as DLC, and Harmonix actually supports their game for more than a year. I bet they've already set a timeline for the end of GH5 DLC.
Nook @ Nov 24th 2009 9:51AM
GHWT was the last GH title to come home with me - the sets sucked. Got tired of slogging through crap music - wasn't interested in the DLC (hey, if the stock tracks suck...why am I going to give you bells?) - according to the N Channel - I think WT logged a total of maybe 35 hours, compared to 175 for GH3.
GH has been collecting dust, ever since RB2 came home. It's going to stay that way too.
Suck it Kodick!
Stevetrop @ Nov 24th 2009 12:26AM
Jebus at the rate they are going I wouldn't be surprised to see Guitar Hero: Infinity. The MMO guitar game.
Wait I shouldn't give out idea's if they haven't thought about it yet. Wait what am I saying this is activision they already thought of it.
Faceman @ Nov 24th 2009 12:29AM
MMOs have been made from less promising ideas. lol

Please tell me I'm not the only person here who despises their "Signs" cover.
Sidebuster @ Nov 24th 2009 9:59AM
I HATE THAT SONG!
Why is he complaining about signs for? tesla, "Oh I hate signs, they are all over the place and so uuuggly. I just don't look at them!"(adjusts girly hair like a girl) guy that doesn't mind signs says, "WAIT! YOU'RE WALKING STRAIGNGH......" Tesla walks over a cliff to their death. Guy, "..Gt off of a cliff. Damn, if only they would have paid attention to that sign."
(Dream Story END)

Spike (GT: SitriStahl) @ Nov 24th 2009 1:47AM
why can't GH6 come out in 20 years, by then there won't be any crap filler games, since every band, decade, and genre ever will have their own game
ColorblindMonk @ Nov 24th 2009 1:54AM
Or it could be DLC. Seriously, the Guitar Hero franchise is basically Madden stuck on fast forward.
XBL: xGeneral DEATHx PSN: Deeth82 [Planeteer | Power of General Hostility and Angst] @ Nov 24th 2009 8:27AM
Agreed. I JUST bought GH5 two days ago, and was even considering porting over the songs from World Tour, and now they're telling me the NEXT installment is almost due?!?!
Travis @ Nov 24th 2009 2:20AM
Next year we'll see this, Band Hero 2, DJ Hero 2, and probably 1 or 2 band specific games. Maybe another specialty game similar to Rock the 80s. They'll keep on milking the cow. Hell, I wouldn't be surprised if we saw both 6 and 7 next year
skoochy @ Nov 24th 2009 2:57AM
Is this their way of saying we won't see anymore GH5 DLC and that you'll have to upgrade to GH6 just to be able to use any of the new "packs" that will come out only after a new game release?
Fireaxe888 @ Nov 24th 2009 7:01AM
I'm still waiting for Guitar Hero/Rock Band Yancovic. The polka songs would be brutal on expert!
Fireaxe888 @ Nov 24th 2009 7:01AM
*Yankovic
umm....hello??? @ Nov 24th 2009 8:30AM
cool....probably the best album Tesla ever put out...can I just get this as DLC for RockBand, though?
Sith Draven @ Nov 24th 2009 9:03AM
Yea! I got a tip printed. lol
At any rate, I'm a huge Tesla fan (hence finding the blurb about GH6) and would much rather see them in Rock Band. Hopefully Harmonix is listening.
Gemini Ace @ Nov 24th 2009 9:32AM
Holy shit, Guitar Hero Tesla would be AMAZING!
charlie b. @ Nov 24th 2009 12:09PM
a band i've never heard of being featured in a game i don't care about.
WAY TO GO, ACTIVISION! *sarcastic thumbs up*
