Really...people should stop buying this game. There are better alternatives. Like nearly every other AAA title coming out this year.

Are you talking about AC2? Because I'd have to disagree, it's out-performed the original game in every conceivable way. I'm not going to go into specifics about the great characters, dialogue, gameplay etc because people can make their own minds up about that when they play it. But to me, AC2 is struggling in a battle for GOTY with Uncharted 2 (but AC2 is losing slightly, I'm only about halfway through).

Of course, this is just my own personal opinion. I'm not saying that you HAVE to like AC2 or anything like that. So don't take this the wrong way. Peace

Huh? Have you played Modern Warfare 2?

The game has a dumb story, and they screwed over PC gamers, but the game itself is intense, immersive, and looks incredible. The co-op and multiplayer modes are very addictive. The design and gameplay is extremely solid.

Perfectly cool if MW2 isn't your type of game. But if you are trying to take that train of thought to say "Modern Warfare 2 is a bad game. Nobody should buy it!", that is just wrong.

I'm going to assume he was talking about Modern Borefare 2.

At least, I have faith in our favorite Dark Lord of the Sith, that he was.

If you're talking about AC2, you're retarded and your opinion is rendered moot.

If you're talking about MW2, I know where you're coming from, but you're still wrong and your opinion is rendered moot.

You lose! Good day to you sir!

How dare people buy games they enjoy! They should think of the snobby gamers who think people should buy games based on other people's tastes rather than their own.

Yes he is talking about MW2. Just to let you guys know, Darth is a HUGE Halo fanboy...so take that for what it's worth here.

@ Darth and that's why you are biting the dust now :(

I love mod warfare but I play it on PC. Maybe because of the recent news of playing it for FREE (pirately) in xbox 360. Finally, it seems Microsoft had tighten their belt and
have recently banned 1 million xbox live players for using a pirated copy of Modern Warfare 2

so much for the "free-play": http://bit.ly/one-million-players-banned-on-playing-modern-warfare-2

Wait till the release of Diablo 3 or Crysis 2 :) Let's see what MW 2 has to say to UK.

AC2 has the most mind blowing, in depth, conspiracy filled story of this generation. It has so many levels of depth, so many different side stories, so much time, effort and research went into this game. Most of the conspiracies are based on actual events in history and actual people, which just makes the story so much more enticing. It is 100x greater in the scope of what it covers than AC1 or any other game this generation. This is up there with Uncharted 2 for my GOTY.

Anyone that says otherwise can't appreciate the time and effort that went into this game, and can't appreciate an amazing narrative with amazing characters.

Well I hate Halo and I still think MW2 is overrated and not that great. People can buy it if they want (who am I to say otherwise?) but my opinion is that it fails in every way possible compared to the original modern warfare and world at war.

AC2 is a fantastic game. the interrogation / eavesdropping is all gone and in their place is an actual story that makes you want every kill.

Plus there's platforming levels which are the perfect difficulty and don't punish you very much at all.

If you hated the original in the first 10 minutes don't buy, but if you loved the original but just got bored with it over time like me then this is a must buy.

Just my 2c.

Agreed. I've described it to friends as Prince of Persia meets Hitman meets Grand Theft Auto.

Nothing is more badass than jumping off a building an skewering two dudes in broad daylight. And then hiding in a haystack.

Man, I gotta kill the original one so I can play AC2. I've been hearing nothing but good things about it...somebody's husband mentioned it at dinner last night, the reference practically dropped from nowhere.

AC2 deserves to be top as it is a sequel that actually improves on the original. I do like MW2 but it was effectively just more of the same.

But you can't "pwn noobz lolololz" in AC2.

So, you know.. it's just not attractive to the kids.

There's an old Chinese proverb that I just made up that goes, "You don't need to make new types of potstickers." I'm pretty sure Infinity Ward had this in mind while working on MW2.

Do they explain in AC2 why Ezio still has his ring finger? I thought all Assassin's had to cut it off for the blade or to prove themselves or something...

The part about the finger never made much sense to me. If your trade is reliant upon stealth and anonymity, then perhaps requiring that you inflict an obvious physical injury on yourself is not such a strategic masterstroke.

The finger was actually true. Assassins Creed 1 was based on a true story (ergo. those assassins really existed). And in the Creed they really did cut out their middle finger so the blade could pass through

I think Altiar (sp?) had his cut off because it was easier that way. I can't wait till I get Altiar armour! Only about 2 or 3 tombs away!

Damn there's just too many games and too little time. I probably won't be able to vote for GOTY 2009 before halfway into 2010, can you hold off the election till then, joystiq?

AC2 is a pretty great game, much better in every way than the first (and I liked the first). Love how they intertwine actual history with the game's made up plot of templars vs. assassins.

Also, I think Da Vinci should get side-kick/character of the year. The guy has been hilarious and great so far.

I agree that it's up there as well. For me, it's Killzone 2, Uncharted 2 & Assassins Creed 2 as the best games of 2009. Hard to pick a winner but I'm going with Uncharted 2 as my overall GOTY.

Well deserved AC2 is amazing, beats the original in every aspect. I'm about 10 hours in and I'm barely into the actual main quest because I'm being distracted by side quests and treasure hunting! Well done has a great chance for GOTY.

Its still a little rough around the edges, but I'm enjoying ACII far more than the original, which was nothing more than a perfect time to take a nap. But with the likes of Uncharted 2, it'll be a runner up to GOTY, at best.

Nice to see New Super Mario Bros. Wii performed well, too. That game is amazing. Its inspired by some of the best absolute best games in the 2D Mario series, yet has its very own feel.

As for L4D2, I can't comment... being that I'm a PS3/Wii owner and Valve is outside my radar, as well as my realm of interest.
