Sometimes you can overdo it...and Bayonetta is getting close.

Maybe a rental.

maybe a rental? It was a rental at best to me from the very first preview/video. It's just DMC with a chick, and equally as shallow of a game.

That's all it's ever been, at most. I tried Devil May Cry, but it just didn't hold my interest.

Unless DMC4 is different from the rest?

The only Devil May Cry that I could get into was the first one. I actually really like that first game, but none of the others really did it for me.

It's on Goozex now, finally.

Oh my god tmac. Oh my god. Like, oh my god. I can't even begin to start to imagine just how retarded you really are. You have to be an absolute black hole of taste. And no, I don't care about what other stuff you like. What you just said is so unbelievably stupid that it more than likely shattered a section of the universe.

Oh my god.

That is easily one of the ugliest character models I've ever seen in a video game. As much as I hated the Gears characters with their testosterone-infused super-manliness, Bayonetta is pure sh*t.

Oh please. At least Epic had the balls to create stylized visuals for their games instead of photo-realism which is getting quite boring. Testosterone-infused? Yea, but at least it had it's own look.

I've seen enough of Bayonetta to have thought she was an ugly character from day one.

I never said I liked photorealism - I didn't even hint at it. I prefer to focus on art style and art direction, and if a game doesn't have a style or direction that is appealing to me, then I don't see a problem with disliking that style and expressing my opinion about it. I didn't insult that actual ARTIST behind those designs, I just expressed my extreme dislike of the designs themselves.

I can respect Picasso without liking his work, you know.

Hint: Saying that's the ugliest character model you've ever seen is not respecting the artists work. Calling it pure shit is REALLY not respecting the artists work.

Maybe a more tactful way to say it is "I'm not really fond of the visual style" instead of insulting someones work that probably exhibits more talent than you ever could.

Everything I see of Bayonetta confirms my opinion that she is one of the most pathetic characters in videogame history. Not sexy, not interesting, and not inspired in the slightest. Somebody needs to explain to these guys that a character with a significant amount of development that shows some skin AS WELL is always going to be preferable to some fake, poorly proportioned character whose waist and butt are accented to "make it over-the-top in the sexiness department"

Though isn't it strange that the smaller Lara Crofts breasts and ass got the worse the game was. COINCIDENCE? I THINK NOT.

Eh... the chick from Wet was somewhat more pathetic. But I don't disagree overall, the whole package feels like someone is jamming a fairly unremarkable centerfold in your face while screaming "ISN'T THAT THE SEXIEST THING YOU EVER SAW??!!" over and over.

I like how they handled Chloe in Uncharted 2... the sex appeal was a little gratuitous, but she was a likeable character. Bayonetta just seems vapid.

I had a soft spot for the girl from Wet since she was voiced by Eliza Dushku (hated the game though)

Yeah, Uncharted 2 was actually one of the games I was thinking of. Games like that and Dragon Age (Morrigan) show that you can have your characters be sexual but maintain a sense of dignity and likability.

If this game actually lives up to the amount of hype the Joystiq contributors continue to give it, I swear it will be the most beautiful game created in the history of gaming. Moderate exposure will bring you to tears, and the special edition will cure cancer.

You need to work on your situational humor. The character being female isn't enough to contextualize a Sarah Palin gag.
