That's just who Joystiq contacted. I'm sure you could put your crying to better use and call your local store.

I can confirm that Ontario, Canada Old Navys will be doing it as well seeing as my best friend who works there now has a Rock Band tee to wear for the day.

yea, It's happening here in Ontario just like the above poster said. Apparently each store will only be getting something like 15 copies, and as far as I know, none of them are for Wii :/

I can't seem to find it at the moment, but I dug up an image of disclaimer goodness stating that you'd be given a wristband (or something like that) color-coded to your console of choice. Basically, as long as you get one of those, you're safe.

I'll keep looking...

"Supplies are very limited. Your preferred platform (Xbox 360, Wii, PS3) may not be available. Prior to store opening on Friday November 27, customers will form a line outside the store, and a store associate(s) will pass out one wristband per person, starting with the front of the line. There are a limited number of wristbands which will be distributed on a first come first served basis and Old Navy can not guarantee that all customers in line will receive a wristband. Wristbands correspond to console platforms (Wii, Xbox 360 and PS3), so customers must choose their preferred console from the available wristbands. Old Navy cannot guarantee that your preferred console platform will be available. Limit one wristband per customer age 16 or older, while supplies last. Subject to availability, wristbands are good for one Lego Rock Band game in the platform listed on the wristband (Xbox 360, Wii, or PS3) with a qualifying purchase of $20 or more, and must be surrendered after purchase. Store hours may vary by location. Check your local store for details. Limit one Rock Band per person, family or household. No rainchecks."

An Old Navy store manager posting at CAG said that his store has 20 copies - I don't know if he meant 20 per platform or 20 total, but one can only hope he meant per platform. Ha.

Dude, you don't wanna get up that early for a game that's basically a licensed cash-in that's undeserving of the Rock Band moniker. Just wait a little while and you'll be able to find it for $20 everywhere.

If nothing else, I derive an unusual satisfaction from the long waits in the cold that Black Friday is notorious for. There may be something wrong with me.

Old Navy gave away wristbands last year when they gave away Samsung Pebbles (MP3 players). The first 50 in line (I was the last one) got wrist bands and could shop at their leisure and pick up their mp3 player. I'll bet they do it again this way this year.

I recommend you get there about three hours earlier (that's right, midnight) or at the latest 1AM, because Black Friday = People in lines = long, cold, waiting = if you're not waiting you don't get what you want.Trust me. I have braved this hell before.

Well, at least this way the discs won't end up in the desert alongside all of those ET 2600 carts...

I don't have a link on me, but I read that the sales for Lego Rock Band weren't entirely bad. I believe something around 60,000 across all consoles in its first week or so. I think thats pretty decent for a budget family title. Don't quote me on those numbers though.

If you want it, I'd recommend just watching eBay this weekend or next week, where the price will be about the same. Same thing happened with the TRU B2G1 deal: all the games on eBay hit $40. Nice to see supply-and-demand in action!

I was thinking the same thing, although this time around, they'll probably be parents getting the game for their kids for Xmas, so you probably won't see the ebay influx until about...(checks LRB metareview) December 27th.

Knowing what I know now, I would have purchased this game for full price when it was released. It was a steal at $9.99 but at $5, you have no excuse for not atleast trying it.

I talked to an employee at an Old Navy and they are getting 15 copies. That isn't 15 for each system, that is 15 TOTAL. They have 5 for each console. Good luck to those who try to get one of these.

"free lego rock band"
(while supplies last)

"platform of your choice"
(while supplies last)

"extremely limited"
(more limited than limited?)
(probably less than 20 total per store, compared to the 50-100+ people that may stand outside in the dark, cold 3am morning)

"spend $ 20 in merchandise"
(does this deal mean the merchandise is not on sale, making going to old navy a complete waste of time if you are not 1 of the lucky ones.)

geez sounds worse than it did before to me.
at least with best buy and wal mart for example there are many, many items on sale that people will fight over and this sounds like 1 thing. knowing that you could get a $ 60.00 video game for buying $ 20.00 worth of clothes, this place is going to be a madhouse and not my cup of tea.

Confirmed: BC also has this going on. I always seem to have stuff to do prior to picking my kids up from Preschool! Looks like another early morning on Friday...

Oh, okay. So here's the skinny.

Friday: Buy Rock Band 2 and get a free guitar. Wii: $39.50, Xbox 360 and PS3: $49.95, PSP: $29.99. Yes, you get a free guitar even with the PSP purchase (don't ask). This sounds like a crap deal, though and they only have maybe a handful of guitars, approximately 12 at the store I called.

Saturday: Buy $20 in clothing and get Lego: Rock Band free. Now THIS is a killer deal and I'm going to line up for it! I need clothes for my kids and get get them Lego RB?? Heck yes! Now I need another guitar. Do I just pick up RB2 for that price? Hrm..
