Direct2Drive offering $10 off Dragon Age: Origins through Nov. 30

The standard edition is priced at $39.95, while the Deluxe edition is priced at $54.95 for the promotion. With the savings we recommend you look into purchasing the (somewhat controversial) downloadable content already available for the title. If paying for storage space is your thing, that is.

The Dark Wayne [Planeteer: Power of the Batusi] ATDFs Financier and Batman @ Nov 24th 2009 2:25AM
Please buy it! Please! I need there to be a sequel!
John @ Nov 24th 2009 2:39AM
If for no other reason than improving the god awful combat.
Huey2k2 @ Nov 24th 2009 2:40AM
@ John
God awful combat? Are you kidding?
The combat in the game is spectacular. It's tactical and makes you think, what more do you want?
THE WICKER MAN (BWF) (GT: Dalek Prime) @ Nov 24th 2009 2:44AM
@ John
People named John are usually fuckers in my experience. Could be because your name is so common and you feel the need to be a right bastard about a good game! All kidding aside did you really not like a BIOWARE GAME that happens to be an RPG? Where you expecting an action game?
Foetoid @ Nov 24th 2009 2:26AM
It quite clearly says $10 off...
Anyway besides all that, can anyone with the game confirm its worth getting? I have a brother who has played it for a few days now and he says its incredible. He did tho forget to increase the graphics settings (as usual) and was playing it in 800x600 with no AA on a PC weidling a 2Gb 4870X2 and an intel quad... *sigh*. Didn't he get a surprise when i maxed the game out for his 22" widescreen monitor lol!
THE WICKER MAN (BWF) (GT: Dalek Prime) @ Nov 24th 2009 2:42AM
Christ, the Biomass said buy, your brother did, the Joystiq Podcast did, I do...what more do you need man? 10 off for a good rpg? PC version will have mods too!
Huey2k2 @ Nov 24th 2009 2:42AM
The game is absolutely worth getting if you are into old school CRPG's. It's a game that is meant to be played on the PC so if your PC can run it even remotely well then I would definitely get it for that over the consoles. But really you're getting a good RPG regardless.
hobocop @ Nov 24th 2009 2:48AM
It's a Bioware RPG. Have you played one of those? Did you like it/them? If the answer to these questions is yes, then you'll most likely enjoy Dragon Age.
Avatar @ Nov 24th 2009 10:27AM
If you like RPGs, and you like good story, and you like tons and tons of blood spattered all over you at all times (and who doesn't?), then you'll like Dragon Age.

This game is freaking amazing. I am shocked at how much I like it.

Einhanderkiller @ Nov 24th 2009 3:03AM
GoGamer has been selling the game for $40 since launch.
it's not me @ Nov 24th 2009 4:07AM
EA store has it for $35 till Nov.30
abigsmurf @ Nov 24th 2009 4:38PM
Please don't buy the DLC. Companies need to realise that launch day DLC is just ripping customers off. Putting a character who only serves to advertise one piece of DLC (and putting him in a place where everyone will come across him) was completely immersion destroying
Aerothorn @ Nov 24th 2009 5:23AM
Amazon has also had it for $40 since launch with free shipping.
Not really a great deal here, no blame to Direct2Drive.
Nexas @ Nov 24th 2009 8:11AM
But you have to buy it from D2D.
den-69 @ Nov 24th 2009 8:22AM
I know it might seem petty and stuff but just wanted to point out there is a typo in the last sentence, Xav.
Rentaro @ Nov 24th 2009 8:53AM
You can get the storage chest for free with a mod. Made by a BioWare employee no less
TokenMachine @ Nov 24th 2009 11:18AM
This man is correct, and here is the link. http://social.bioware.com/project/463/
Martin @ Nov 24th 2009 9:10AM
For what it's worth I got the game for 360 for $49.99 a couple of days ago, so it seems to be $10 off there as well. Not sure if it still is, but damn if it isn't worth at least the full $60.
Biggie @ Nov 24th 2009 9:25AM
EA is selling Dragon Age for 34.96 until November 30th on their site, as a black Friday sale. It kinda makes me sad that this game has already been discounted, before I've played it but after I've bought it. Oh well the money went to a good cause...
Vcize @ Nov 24th 2009 9:32AM
Yeah, a bit of an odd posting here. $10 off a videogame is uncommonly common, so it's weird that this one got a post even though it's been the same price (or cheaper) for weeks at other retailers.
incubeezer @ Nov 24th 2009 10:10AM
Yeah I'd say. Well as long as we're posting sales Target has it for $44 this week along with left 4 dead 2 and a few others.
HighFiveJesus @ Nov 24th 2009 10:12AM
got it from newegg with free shipping.
i don't mind payin 40 for what is suppose to be a huge game.
meledeo @ Nov 24th 2009 10:53AM
I came here to say this. Digital download version only.

Just wanted to inform people that if you have the money, go for the Digital Deluxe edition from D2D.
It gives you all the normal bonus items such as teh Blood Dragon armor, plus the Warden's Keep. What people are saying about the "storage chest" is misleading. This DLC is a complete side quest that just happens to give you the chest at the end. If I had to do it again I would definetly still buy it.
Manthal @ Nov 24th 2009 12:43PM
"With the savings we recommend you look into purchasing the (somewhat controversial) downloadable content already available for the title. If paying for storage space if your thing, that is."
The digital deluxe edition already comes with that DLC to make up for the lack of awesome tin case, map, etc.
