Though BioWare has tried to keep the flow information relating to its upcoming MMO, Star Wars: The Old Republic to a slow trickle, the latest issue of PC Games Germany recently beat the studio to a pretty big punch, revealing the game's final two character classes. The classes are the Jedi Consular and the Sith Inquisitor -- two more Force-wielding classes which focus less on lightsaber combat and more on long-range attacks and support abilities.
These two join the six other previously announced classes for the game: Trooper, Imperial Agent, Bounty Hunter, Smuggler, Jedi Knight and Sith Warrior. Tragically, it seems the Fashion Designer class from Star Wars Galaxies won't make a reappearance in Old Republic. As a result, we expect everyone's characters to be dressed in the drabbest of duds.

I don't know why BioWare didn't include the Jedi Sentinel, considering they CREATED the bloody class.

Probably because the Sentinals were the bitches of the KOTOR universe. They were good at nothing, yet sucked at everything. Maybe im a bit bias though since in my 8 playthroughs of KOTOR 1, ive only ever been a Consular

Darth Tyranus could whoop your ass. (I personally think he was a better fighter than Sidious and only lost against Anakin because he was weakened)

You don't know that there is no Sentinel class. It could still be apart of the regular Jedi class with Guardian. I think that Consular is just so unique that it deserved it's own class. Also, because the Republic and Sith need the same class types.

Why not lots of classes AND lots of specializations?

I kinda agree with both of you, I wish there was only one Force user per side and then you can specialize that character as a Knight/Warrior, Consular/Inquisitor, and a Sentinel/ ?. Kinda like Talent Trees and then make the 4th class like a Sith Trooper (bounty hunters and agents ARE NOT storm troopers) and something unique for Republic.
That's my 2 cents.

This information is already confirmed by Bioware. Each class has 2 specializations, in which player need to decide one of which when the storyline progress.
My guess is, the Jedi Sentinel/Guardian shall be those two specializations of Jedi Knight. But whatever, I am relieved. I thought I was going to see 70% of population running around as a Jedi Knight. Now it will be only half of that figure, thanks to Jedi Consular.

There's only blue/green sabers, which means Consulars and Guardians.

Droid commandos and bounty hunters already exist.
Grevious was a commando, he just had a bunch of dead Jedi lightsabers that he used. He never once was alluded to being a sith or dark jedi.
Obviously there was 4-LOM in the Empire Strikes Back, who rocks out with Zuckus. Oh, and the more obvious IG-88 who became the sentient life form present in the second Death Star moments before it was destroyed.
