Final two Star Wars: The Old Republic classes revealed
Though BioWare has tried to keep the flow information relating to its upcoming MMO, Star Wars: The Old Republic to a slow trickle, the latest issue of PC Games Germany recently beat the studio to a pretty big punch, revealing the game's final two character classes. The classes are the Jedi Consular and the Sith Inquisitor -- two more Force-wielding classes which focus less on lightsaber combat and more on long-range attacks and support abilities.
These two join the six other previously announced classes for the game: Trooper, Imperial Agent, Bounty Hunter, Smuggler, Jedi Knight and Sith Warrior. Tragically, it seems the Fashion Designer class from Star Wars Galaxies won't make a reappearance in Old Republic. As a result, we expect everyone's characters to be dressed in the drabbest of duds.

I don't know why BioWare didn't include the Jedi Sentinel, considering they CREATED the bloody class.
JollyDrifter @ Nov 24th 2009 10:11AM
they need something of the expansion pack.
The Pirate @ Nov 24th 2009 10:08AM
Probably because the Sentinals were the bitches of the KOTOR universe. They were good at nothing, yet sucked at everything. Maybe im a bit bias though since in my 8 playthroughs of KOTOR 1, ive only ever been a Consular

Sentinels kicked ass. Who wants to be a wimpy Consular?
The Pirate @ Nov 24th 2009 10:15AM
Consulars could fry your ass with Force lightning, beyatch
Darth Bradwart, The Dark Lord of the Sith-ATDF Co-Founder @ Nov 24th 2009 10:25AM
Beat a Dark Lord?
You must be joking...
The Pirate @ Nov 24th 2009 10:37AM
If Sidious could get fried then even you can
Darth Bradwart, The Dark Lord of the Sith-ATDF Co-Founder @ Nov 24th 2009 10:49AM
How old was that old fart?
I am better than he ever dreamed of being...
The Pirate @ Nov 24th 2009 11:42AM
Darth Tyranus could whoop your ass. (I personally think he was a better fighter than Sidious and only lost against Anakin because he was weakened)
Genome4824 @ Nov 24th 2009 1:53PM
You don't know that there is no Sentinel class. It could still be apart of the regular Jedi class with Guardian. I think that Consular is just so unique that it deserved it's own class. Also, because the Republic and Sith need the same class types.
Duke @ Nov 24th 2009 9:58AM
Wait, so are you telling me I can't play as a Gungan General like Jar Jar Binks?!
Ghen @ Nov 24th 2009 11:28AM
that's in the future, old republic hasn't met that planet yet. (maybe)
Duke @ Nov 24th 2009 11:38AM
OMG, Jar Jar Binks can time travel! Everyone in his fanclub knows that.
Temidien @ Nov 24th 2009 10:07AM
Anyone else think there are too many classes? I'd rather have fewer classes and more specializations...
Avatar @ Nov 24th 2009 10:24AM
Why not lots of classes AND lots of specializations?
Cyryus @ Nov 24th 2009 11:09AM
I kinda agree with both of you, I wish there was only one Force user per side and then you can specialize that character as a Knight/Warrior, Consular/Inquisitor, and a Sentinel/ ?. Kinda like Talent Trees and then make the 4th class like a Sith Trooper (bounty hunters and agents ARE NOT storm troopers) and something unique for Republic.
That's my 2 cents.
Kayel @ Nov 24th 2009 10:36AM
No one expects the Sith Inquisition!
HedonisticKai @ Nov 24th 2009 11:21AM
+1 - I Lol'ed
I doub't alot of other joystiq's will be able to though.
Duke @ Nov 24th 2009 11:39AM
Cause we wouldn't get a Monte Python joke?
Wizzleteets @ Nov 24th 2009 12:16PM
Who's Monthy Python?
[Silly walks out of joystiq]
Beam @ Nov 24th 2009 11:05AM
This information is already confirmed by Bioware. Each class has 2 specializations, in which player need to decide one of which when the storyline progress.
My guess is, the Jedi Sentinel/Guardian shall be those two specializations of Jedi Knight. But whatever, I am relieved. I thought I was going to see 70% of population running around as a Jedi Knight. Now it will be only half of that figure, thanks to Jedi Consular.
Darth Bradwart, The Dark Lord of the Sith-ATDF Co-Founder @ Nov 24th 2009 11:08AM
There's only blue/green sabers, which means Consulars and Guardians.
Cyryus @ Nov 24th 2009 11:15AM
Alright, so we have all the classes now! Time to find out what races we can be... How awesome would it be if we can play as a droid?? Not saying I would play as one but it would be totally unique!
Cyryus @ Nov 24th 2009 11:17AM
Replying to myself but they would have class limitations, obviously they wouldn't be Jedi or Sith (well i am looking at you Grevious) but a Droid Commando or Droid Bounty Hunter is FAR from being far fetched in the Star Wars Universe.
Punkrawk Bbob @ Nov 24th 2009 11:37AM
Droid commandos and bounty hunters already exist.
Grevious was a commando, he just had a bunch of dead Jedi lightsabers that he used. He never once was alluded to being a sith or dark jedi.
Obviously there was 4-LOM in the Empire Strikes Back, who rocks out with Zuckus. Oh, and the more obvious IG-88 who became the sentient life form present in the second Death Star moments before it was destroyed.
mattimus @ Nov 24th 2009 3:20PM
Grievous also wasn't a droid. He was more of a cyborg. He was like the 6,000,000 dollar man.
Cyryus @ Nov 24th 2009 11:44AM
Yeah I know, I totally agree, that is why I said its far from being far fetched. I was just saying I really hope they allow droid as a class because it already fits SO well with half of the classes in the game.
