"Yes, there was an issue with the original download," a Sony Europe spokesperson has told Eurogamer. Said issue, which rendered PAL digital copies of Assassin's Creed: Bloodlines dead on arrival, was rectified by replacing the PSP file on the European PlayStation store -- though this came at a cost to those who had already been greeted by the defective copy's never-ending loading screen. According to the spokesperson, "It was pulled from the store and we are issuing replacement codes for those people who purchased the content before 12PM GMT on November 20."
Developed by Griptonite Games, Bloodlines follows the protagonist of 2007's Assassin's Creed, complete with 3D free-running and an Altair native control scheme.

I was really hoping this game would be good. In fact, I nearly bought it until I saw the reviews.

LBP PSP is actually holding up to it's console brethren rather well. I'm surpirsed, and I've been waiting (a week) to buy it on the PSN store. Too bad Sony STILL doesn't want me to give them my money. Blargh.

I got all excited when I read that LBP PSP would be coming out today on PSN.
...But it still wasn't. ='(

I picked this game up and it's really not that bad at all. It is what it is ... a crude version of Assassins Creed. Still, it's a blast to play if you temper your expectations.

MS isn't that much better. Games on Demand is a ridiculous failure of a service.

Sony is the first company to really push digital distribution (in the handheld market), and it deserves credit for that. Bad things happen, at least they quickly rectified their mistake.
@ Aerial
If Sony is doing something, it is actually making it EASIER to move on the DD stage. I don't even think the Go is here to sell a lot as much as it is to get people accustomed to a digital only handheld.

It's like a win, win, win situation. Of course I say that not knowing how much R&D money they spent on the device, but that's beside the point.
They get more people familiar with digital distribution, they get more PSP (Go) owners, and they also get more PSP (3000) owners as well!
They are selling more PSP 3000s because of the Go, the Go itself is selling, and at least some naysayers are probably going to be impressed with how their DD is working out.

Replacement codes? I don't get it, the PSN lets you download anything you purchased any number of times you want. I'm assuming they would just replace your download list link with the correct, fixed file. What are the codes for?

I know this is a bit offtopic, but dear fellows :) help me to decide between buying AC2 or GoW: Collection =|
I'm bit spent right now as I have bought so far Uncharted 2, PES 2010 & Modern Warfare so yeah my wallet only allows one more game.
I own the first AC and I never finished I got bored at half way through the game and I love GoW games, so replaying them in HD sounds like a neat idea.
So what do you think? Which one should I buy?

Pretty useless if you'll get AC2 since you haven't finished the first one yet. I'd say go for GoW, sell your first AC and save it for some game later maybe the coming GoW3. You can just play AC on PC anyways. I'd say go for PS3 exclusive first. dispatch/sell them later if you're not collecting. GoW collection is pretty cool except for the cinematics. Everything else looks awesome.
As for the topic, AC:Bloodlines sucks so bad compared to GoW:Chains of Olympus. Yeah, it looks beautiful for a handheld console but the controls and camera sucks. But you'll get used to it like me cuz I just wanted to play that game for the story. And so far... it's pretty bland and boring... nothing much interesting going on. I'm on the mission retrieving back your prisoner (the lady crusader or something... forgot her name. lol).
I do hope this won't happen again on PSN release next time. Also, I hope that the PSN counterpart would be simultaneous with the physical media (UMD) release. It's so bad that other people already own the UMD while you wait for the PSN to release those stuff to download like Tekken 6. xD

God of War 1 doesn't hold up that well, but 2 really does look almost as good as many current-gen games. It's amazing how much a higher resolution can help without even altering the game assets.
But still, I would say AC2. It's really great and much better than the first (and I'm one of the retards that loved the first) and you don't need to have played the first game to get what's going on. You're the descendent of a line of Assassins, the Templars are bad guys, that's it.

@Night Elve
I've got both of them and while the GOW collection is a tremendous value for the price ($10 off the already cheap price at best buy with a GOW 3 pre-order) I have to say that I'm beyond impressed with Assassins Creed 2. Like you, I wasn't big on the first one and in fact I thought it was a bit overrated. AC2 is like the best game this year short of Uncharted 2 ... it's that good. Pick it up. You won't regret it.

Go owners are getting fucking shafted. Fucking up the launch with the price and less features was face-palmy, but after the fact, not being able to deliver a working download? Argh...

How are they issueing this codes? Because I haven't received word from them yet.
And on that note, even if they send the codes and everything turns out allright, let me just say this: SONY and UBISOFT HOW ABOUT A FRIGGIN' EMAIL TO LET YOUR CUSTOMERS KNOW ABOUT THE PROBLEM!?!?!?!
Instead, we had to scour forums and news sites and believe in rumors about why our game wasn't working and the possible fix... how about a little communication next time?

Assassin's Creed 2 is an amazing game, but the PS3 version is a screen-tear and frame-rate mess. I sent my copy back to Amazon. Did complete it first mind you, so I can't complain, but it was miserable to play with everything getting choppier the longer I played in one session.

The Ubisoft forums had plenty of complaints about screen-tearing/FPS problems, there's like a 7-page thread on it.
In theory it should be the same on every PS3, right? I mean, same hardware, same game, etc. Friend suggested it could have something to do with TVs running at different update frequencies tho.

If it's having framerate problems WITHOUT vsync it would be a slideshow with it on.
I haven't really noticed screen tearing on 360 except for in cutscenes when it's relaly annoying. The LOD threshold for shadows on buildings can be sorta distracting too, but those are really my only complaints with the game.

Preface: Didn't like AC1 but love AC2.
I'd say the game is worth buying if you are big AC fan in general. It's absolutely beautiful for a PSP game and it captures the essence of the AC universe. I'd say it's like any other PSP version of a PS3 game (LBP, GT, GOW, R&C, GTA etc) it's really good and if you like the games on the big box you'll love it on the PSP. I'm digging it ... a lot more than I did AC1

When will we be getting our codes then because I have herd about 20 different things about this. Not impressed with the way Sony is handling this or how long they are taking.
