Although Activision and IW did contribute towards the negative reaction, I wouldn't say that the proportion was that high. The campaign had several plot holes, and as many have pointed out, "No Russian" could have been done much, much better. As for the PC version, well, I never really saw the point of the measures they took. Hopefully more companies realize how pointless it is. They might as well distribute pirated versions of their games online, it would be just an effective a piracy prevention technique.

I think people have a reason to be angry, but sometimes I think it gets out of hand.

I hope it won't just be multiplayer maps, I will pay for more spec-ops missions and other single player content.

Let's see how Activision will sell DLC to the PC gamers, who are used to getting it mostly for free.

I find it unlikely any self-respecting PC gamer would pay for maps or gamemodes that were already on the goddamn disk.

Although, if you were stupid enough to pick up MW2 in the first place, I wouldn't put it past you...

If they are on the disc, then I will use other methods to get them for free.

BTW, I paid $50 for the game thanks to Fry's Electronics.

@That Guy

Well, it wasn't already on the goddamn disc for a lot of people, since MW2 is a steam exclusive and a lot of people just downloaded it.

And I wouldn't call someone stupid for buying the game. I sure wouldn't put $60 down on it, but some people really like that series. While personally, I was disgusted at what they did to the PC version of the game there are a lot of people who don't care about the stuff that they did. I'm sure there's some game in your collection a lot of people would call you stupid for buying, but it's not, it's just peoples taste.

god damn I was coming into these comments to actually PRAISE IW for not having that stupid bullshit launch-day DLC already up for purchase.

....only to find out that there's DLC on the disk already. Wonderful.

I look forward to the day when MW3 comes out and Activision shuts down IWNet "for the benefit of the community" or whatever.

If they don't fix the matchmaking i couldn't see IW getting that sort of attach rate with this game. Why should people spend their money on something that just dosen't work outside of the U.S.

that math's a little off considering that there was more than one map pack released.

Analysts are idiots. I'm sure people will buy the map packs but you can already tell people are dissatisfied by the MW2.

I am, i wish i hadn't wasted 60 dollars on an expansion pack( its not a full game, think about it).. If they require you to have the new map pack to play in the lists, ill probably just stop playing, if I play for that long that is, BFBC2 and MAG look sweet.

How exactly is it not a full game? It's a completely new campaign that's as long as the first game, new maps for multiplayer, even more shit to unlock as you play through MP, and a new mode to play with people. I don't really see how CoD is different from other sequels to FPS games.

How is Bad Company 2 any more of a game than MW2?

Get off your snobby gamer high-horse. It is a sequel just like every other sequel out there.
