I think you made up that stereotypical and slightly racist story to be funny. Fortunately, you have failed.

What would I gain from making up a story on a video game blog?

So because my values are not the same as the majority of my society I am automatically a whiner and a conformist to those who are against popular belief?

This is not the same dilemma as people who like to be emo because they are against pop. Consumerism is one of the biggest fallacies of modern society.

Jesus Christ, lighten up. Consumerism is the only thing holding up the economy and society as a whole. Go shove your hippie bullshit somewhere else. Besides, it's not like you ACTUALLY care, you're just trying to sound elitest and smart. Sadly, you failed.

You just proved my point by admitting consumerism is holding up the economy. No economy should depend solely on people buying things. When you consider how little is actually MADE in the USA these days, buying things does very little to support the economy because the only people that benefit are executives.

Isn't it funny how people who are being realistic and rational are always called elitist? I don't think I belong to any special group, I just think that I possess a sense that a lot of US citizens tend to lack.

They claim to be updating the sales each hour. So far none of the deals I listed have posted, so I'm guessing they'll be saving the best deals for the end at 4pm EST.

I'm waiting too...

Only thing I picked up was Dead Space: Extraction for my little bro, $20 at Gamestop. (Yes, I know, it will be in the $20 bin after the holidays anyways, but for now it's still a good deal) I might grab Scribblenauts for myself, it's $16 on Amazon.
