Square Enix has released yet another Japanese language trailer for Final Fantasy XIII, likely the last one before the game hits retail stores across the Pacific. This five minute video features a lot of recycled footage from earlier trailers, but attentive fans will notice the reveal of new characters (villains, perhaps?).
The highlights of this lengthy preview are the franchise's trademark over-the-top summons -- made even more spectacular and grandiose for this generation's first numbered entry in the Final Fantasy series. Of course, Square Enix fans would have it no other way.
You mean manually turn it off everytime I come here? Or is there coding to make it just by-pass Joystiq all together, I don't know the program that much but it is quite useful in some sites.
I have been playing FF since the original on the NES and it feels like FFXIII is moving the series in direction I don't care for. Maybe it is just me, but it seems somewhat underwhelming. I hope I can eventually get that excitement back, but it is not looking good right now.
I have no idea whats going on in the trailer, all i know is i saw a rip off or similiar character to Bayonetta and Ace Attorney looking dude who pounds the table. Also these guys love jumping from incredible heights for some thrill seeking reason.
no care...the graphics looks awesome, but graphics don't make a game good. I'll take a game full of sprite characters and 2d backgrounds with an awesome story and flawless gameplay over this crap anyday.
Nothing since FF X has been anything compared to the PS1 releases...and never will.
Well, a dramatic story is what made Final Fantasy VII, VIII, and X so good. I don´t see anything wrong with it....people love drama. As for Persona, as a huge fan of P3, and Final Fantasy, all I can say is that you really can´t compare, for the only similarity the franchises have is that they´re in the same genre. Plus, Persona is wayyyy more linear than Final Fantasy. It´s all about what you like really, and I prefer more personalization and character development in my games. As for the graphics, Atlus will NEVER top Square.

I don't know about anyone else but I think this is the poorest character design in a FINAL FANTASY game ever.....it seems they focused on too many over the top glue hair cosplay hairstyles instead of actual characters.
I am just not too amped up about the images or videos that have been revealed so far........I just kinda yawn at every trailer and thing that has been revealed about this game in the series. To be honest......i don't think the newest cutscenes revealed are any better than the ones in the past 2 (X & XII) or their movies. Has Square reached its peak??
Personally I don't think that this game will live up to the massive waiting time and hype behind it.......but it will still sell. It should technically sell more copies than past versions of the game due to its multiplatform release
SO the summons are Lighting= odin Snow= shiva sisters Black guy = Ifrit Hot Aussie = Bahamut Litle Boy= alexander (priest + little boy hahahaha lolz) Red hair girl what summon does she get couldn't tell don't recongise it
