As if you needed another reason to love Assassin's Creed II, the video just below the break shows that it also contains our very favorite kind of squid: a secret squid. Apparently, staring into a pool in the last chamber of the Santa Maria Delle Visitazione for just under a minute will net you a visit from the sizable cephalopod you see in the image above.
Just as a warning, the video has a couple of instances of profanity. Why you'd want to sully such a beautiful moment is, frankly, beyond us.
Yea, u wouldn't have EVER figured it out. I actually read about this in the dev blog after finishing the game, last night, and was going to check this out. The dev actually spilled the beans on this one, kinda, but I don't think he stated anything about how long to wait or doing it a second time to see the tentacle come out of the water.
I know what you mean. Now the game is gonna really suck because you'll know there's a secret squid in it. The entire plot of the game is ruined, just ruined!
It's what we old gamers call easter eggs, shit put in a game just for fun and don't necessarily have an impact on the game at all. Kojima does it a lot in MGS games.
Crazy kids nowadays. I remember when whole games were pointless. You didn't have achievements, you certainly didn't have easter eggs in a whole lot of games. Oh and cheatcodes.. yeah not unless you had a device to manipulate your games.
@daliminator2000: Correct, it was a complete misuse of the word, but it doesn't mean he wasn't trying to find a reason to use it (since he clearly thought it meant something else.)
Since nonplussed means to be confused, I'm not sure how that could be taken as a misuse of the word. While it may be an imaginative failing on his part for not understanding the fun to be had with easter eggs, there is no failing of vocabulary in his post. Sometimes it's not fun to play amateur vocabulary nazi when you are misinformed.
@s1l3n70n3: He was quite obviously trying to say he was not enthused. People commonly use "nonplussed" this way because it sounds like it would mean "not plussed." It's one of the most common mistakes, along with saying "irregardless," thinking that flammability and inflammability have opposite meanings, etc.
If you keep this in mind, the case that he was actually using "nonplussed" correctly is extremely weak.
As the only authority on what I meant to say, I did indeed mean to say confused (see my first response?!). It followed a "How" question and all. Additionally, with even a speck of ambiguity on my intended meaning, you were improper to assume one way or another. I know you have a big reputation on the internet to defend, but seriously.... lay off.
On ubisoft forums, a guy named Anthony said he found it when he was observing the room. It sounds like he just was idling next to the water after triggering the lever.
