Yes, more Ys is coming to PSP

The Ys series gets around. Primarily a PC-based franchise, Falcom's action-RPG series is ported to everything that can play games in Japan. It appears on the PSP in the form of Ys VI: The Ark of Napishtim, Ys I&II Chronicles, and (soon) Ys VII.

Yet another Ys game is migrating over to PSP, as Falcom announced that Oath in Felghana, a port of the PC game of the same name (pictured), will be released in Japan on April 22, with upgraded controls, voiced "events," and the ability to switch between versions of the soundtrack.

Oath in Felghana is a remake of Ys III: Wanderers from Ys, swapping out that game's unusual side-scrolling gameplay for the traditional Zelda-esque Ys style.

Why cant we get RPG's like these on the PS3? Why only the PSP? It is so anoying that evry time I find a game that looks fun on the PSN it is for the PSP only.

a) It's cheaper to produce a game for the PSP than PS3. By quite a bit

b) People in Japan (where this is aimed for) actually buy PSP games. More so than PS3 games.

If you like those games so much, why not just get a PSP?

I dont buy a PSP for these games becuse I think its dumb siting in my chair in front of a 46" TV with my suround sound, playing a game on a tiny little screen with bad sound. If a PSP can run these games surlly a PS3 can.

you could always use the av cable for the psp and attach it to your tv and sound system? i've had good luck with it.

Have these ever been released stateside or even in English?

"Ys VI: The Ark of Napishtim" Was released in the US, but the others? I dont know.

yeah theres the Ys book I and II for the DS a while back in the US.

i've always been a fan of Ys. but apart from Napishtim, none of them ever made it across to Europe. atleast now theres a chance it will come out here since its on psp. i'm thinking of importing the DS version too, since its not out in Europe either.

This is pretty amazing. This makes me want to pull my sega master system out and play Y's on that :) or my dreamcast since I have the emulator and all..

the only one I've been interested is the 2.5D sidescroller. But that seems to be the one that won't come over. :/

I played Ys I and II on the DS...couldn't figure out where to go in Book II...
