From the medium that taught us a console is just a "hard drive with games on it" comes a new episode of NCIS (not to be confused with CSI FYI or CSI NY) that highlights the significant military advantage of employing a video game tactician. But don't even think about deploying them! As the episode's summary reveals, "a government think-tank filled with child prodigies" may be the only safe refuge for the killer's next victim.
You know what else could save a life? Not being so smug.
Oh yay so now a kid is better then a trained solider besides it flaw in the EP was that she was good at seeing it in a 3rd person point of view that could see everything as it was happening and she wasn't feeling the pressure of being on the field so either way she would have failed.
I hate how that make her look like she's some genius when in reality it's just stupid that no one is like that by playing a game.
It was a spinoff of JAG, and deals with completely different objects than CSI. CSI focuses on civilian cases, primarily dealing with the forensic side... while NCIS is dealing with a general full-scale investigation.
@Sonic, Regardless of whether its civilian or military they do the same thing only with stupid cliched characters that are lame like the cool "goth" girl.
i felt embarrassed while watching that, because it was so stupid.
why is it that whenever video games are used in television shows it is done in retarded ways like this?
and it seems that no matter what show or movie it is, they always find the worst actors for the parts, ones who always move the controller from side to side frantically and scream to themselves when no one is around.
I rage hard if something stupid happens, like the other day I was playing AC2 and Ezio turned around mid-jump because apparently getting to that other god damned pole was too much for him, I ended up raging for 5 minutes about how useless he was and how his family died because he sucked so hard. I even did some voice acting for some of his family members to shame him a little harder.
thats not a retarded way its the same as a football coach looking over past matches with an opposition to see flaws in the game
you say the worst actors, i assume your referring to the secondary actors since the main cast is awesome in NCIS, which brings me to my point theres only so many secondary actors you can have in TV shows that you can use since once theve been on before they should stay that charachter and they may be being used on another TV show they work with whos avaliable for a secondary charachter they aint holding up the show because the one little girl they wanted wont be avaliable for another 2 weeks
and showing people rage at videogames in tv is probably a good thing if they all just sat there like mindless drones killing things dying and killing some more then thered be a massive desensitstion(spelling) outcry, rage in a game is one of 2 things the games is broked but you still wanna play but at the same time take the disc out and snap it :P or your attached to the char and angry that you nrly beat the big ugly ass troll than just whacked you on the head with his club
A: Since when is MW2 free-roaming? B: C'mon, we all know girlz don't play video games... Sheesh... (I'm kidding, of course, but seriously, what percentage of MW2's player base are teenage girls? I'm guessing a fraction of a percent, at best.) C: It's a M-rated game, so shouldn't children not be playing it in the first place?
It's always somewhat shocking to see how clueless people are when it comes to video games, especially in TV shows. It's either they don't know enough about it or they overstate what it is.
In an episode of "Dexter", in the third season I believe, they had Dexter playing Halo 3 on a computer. When someone came into the room, somehow he quit directly into the desktop in a matter of about three seconds to reveal it was a Windows XP.
I know what it's called. I'm just saying what good does it do portraying what the game isn't? These shows have huge budgets and you're telling me that they can't wrap their mind around simple gaming concepts?
And for the record, it was more of the fact that it was an extremely outdated looking XP that probably wouldn't have been able to run Halo 2, let alone Halo 3.
That was bad. I know women play games and shooters but come on a 13 year old girl would not play a game and analyse it that much hell I doubt the average soldier who plays MW2 does thats bullshit. Why do they either portray games as a way to turn you into a killer or an unrealistic wonder machine. Why cant they just get it right as a way to unwind.
Worst show on TV. Every actor is terrible playing completely cliched characters. The fat nerdy guy who barely does anything nerdy, the douchebag womanizer, the stoic take no crap sergeant, and the foreign exchange agent who miraculously forgets words only when it's comical
