Steam Deals Day Two: KOTOR, Dead Space, L4D2 discounted

The second day of Steam's five-day-long "Early Holiday Sale" has arrived, bringing with it another batch of wallet-friendly prices on a few excellent titles. The highlight from today's offers is, of course, Left 4 Dead 2, which you can now purchase for just $37.49.

A few older titles have also undergone a bit of cost reduction surgery, including Dead Space, which is $14.99 for today only, and Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, which is just $2.49. None of these float your boat? Swing back by tomorrow at 8:00 a.m. PST for the next round of cheapenings.

Fact- Anyone who has not played Knights of the Old Republic needs to buy it now.

Agreed. One of the best games ever made IMHO.

Yeah even with the bad combat it was still a really great game. It's amazing what a really good story and characters will do for you.

Definitely. Great characters with fun environments and story.

The combat was a little clunky but I enjoyed it. I think I played through once as the warrior kind of class and another time as the hybrid warrior/force type. I'd recommend not going pure warrior if you want to do more than just click enemies and wait for them to die.

just ordered it, i loved mass effect so much, and i heard it was way worse than kotor

I just bought it like two months ago. It is nice and all, definately should get it at that price.

I've been wanting to replay through KOTOR for forever now and I lost my copy for the Xbox.... For $2.49 I might as well just buy it again.

WTF??!!!! I shoulda waited it out on L4D2.

Amazon and Dell have been selling the PC L4D2 for 30 bucks. Just a heads up.

Yeah I've only recently gotten back into PC gaming so I didn't realize that Steam was so hype with prices. I preordered L4D2 on Steam for 45, but I could have just waited a few weeks... :/

Man prices for PC games are so awesomely cheap.

I need someone to help me out. I need someone to gift me the L4D2 game from the US. I will of course pay for it. The reason is that the Aussie version is horridly censored and i refuse to play it. If someone from the US gifts an uncensored copy to someone in Australia, it legally circumvents the censorship. My Steam username is the same as my username here.

So I just bought L4D2.

Now, I have a question to everyone who bought L4D2 before this discount or on the first day or pre-ordered....

Doesn't this just piss you off? I know I'd be pissed off cause the game has only been out, what, 2 weeks? If that? ahahaha (I can laugh cause I bought it today :D)

well I got a hat for tf2 and the baseball bat so that was the tipping point. I like the game so i don't feel cheesed that I could have saved 8 dollars by not pre-ordering it. I figured saving 5 dollars and the goodies (love the tf2 hat) were enough. Plus i've already put in a ton of time.

Well I got it in the pre-order 4 pack which came out to around $33, so I still spent less than you. Plus, I got the pre-order baseball bat and more importantly, Bills hat in TF2. And I've been playing since Nov 16. Pissed off? No. Couldn't be happier.

I bought KOTOR again. I had the older PC version, but heck, 4 CD's seems so outdated, and I hate having to keep the CD in the drive. Lazy? Sure.

Also, whoever you are, reading this, you have no excuse to not own KOTOR in some format.

If you bought the 4 Pack of L4D2 it came to $37 each. So I got it for $0.49 cheaper.

what I really want to know... is if they are gonna have other mega packs. I already have most of the star wars pack games and the THQ pack games......

Actually if you pre-ordered the 4-pack it was discounted to $135, which comes out to $33.75 per person.

That said, the people who buy the 4'pack now for $112 get the game for a nice $28 each.

Prolly going to get Deep Space... I went and picked up L4D2 at GameStop for only $30... the girl there actualll checked my ID! I am 29! hahaahha

I really want to mention that Madballs in Babo Invasion is today's $2 game. I went looking on the Steam forums to see how the game is, and apparently they've been updating the game like crazy. I just picked it up and it's a lot of fun for the price.

I would have gotten L4D2 this morning @ Gamestop, but no extra cash due to my wife needing that $200 HP Laptop @ Best Buy. My wife & I kept swapping spots in our camping out line in front of Best Buy. She & I got there @ 8 pm last night, but the first guy in line was there since 5 pm WEDNESDAY. Yes Wednesday.

I witnessed 2 fights (not physical...but pretty close). The first ended up w/ this douchebag standing @ the door in front of guys that had already been there awhile & saying he wasn't gonna leave. So a group of us were going to back up the actual first guys in line. So the guy leaves & 15 minutes later the cops show up to see what's going on. The guy actually called the cops on everyone else pretty much.

The 2nd fight (which I was not directly involved in) ended up w/ me being the last person to get that HP laptop ticket. I was gonna get Assassin's Creed for PC for $5 too, but I decided Bioshock would be a better investment if it came down between the two.

Just bought KOTOR...

Dead Space is only $20 new on PS3 (and 360?), I can't see how it can really return to $30 on PC after this sale ends.

Good call. The pricing is especially strange because the PC version of Dead Space has much lower ratings pretty much everywhere.

30? Wal-Mart sold it for 10 today...picked up a copy.

KOTOR for 2.49?!?! I'll have to see if my PC can play it. (Seriously, it's old. I really need to upgrade).

People who buy L4D2 right now, even at that price should just wait. The last time, just after xmas, the original L4D went for like 20$ or cheaper (real value of the game but that's just my opinion). There are usually amazing deals right after xmas so unless you are getting a really good deal here (like kotor, or Deadspace) you might as well wait if you don't mind. Anyone remember when they sold Bioshock for like 1$ only?

For those of you complaining about not having waited for a better deal, or advising to wait for a better deal, here's a practical tip: there will always be a better deal later. If you want it, I suggest you get it. Especially L4D2, it's worth it. Even more so at $38.

for any military out there, I saw L4D2 for PC on sale last night at my base exchange for 29.99, tax free of course. Pissed me off cause I bought it full price from gamestop a week before since the bx didn't have it.
