Weekly Webcomic Wrapup is falling behind
Oh, man! We knew we forgot to do something yesterday! In the midst of our holiday spending spree, we forgot to post the winner of last week's Wrapup! Here's a shocker: First place went to Brawl in the Family's music-infused "Ode to Minions," which garnered a simply preposterous 1,357 votes. Second and third place went to Virtual Shackles' "Pokemon Green," and Penny Arcade's "Grim," respectively. A belated congratulations to all our winners!
Now, to the matter at hand. We've arranged our seven favorite webcomics from this week below. Check them out, and vote for your favorite after the jump. Barring any kind of supernatural cosmic catastrophe (or, you know, a really great sale at Target), we'll tally up your votes and designate a winner next Friday.
SkiFree (xkcd)
Social Engineering (Virtual Shackles)
Super Blue Toad Bros. (Nerf Now)
Mega Thanks (2P Start)
Delicioso (Penny Arcade)
New Super Mariown Bros. (The Great Indoors)
Mawnin'! (Again!) (Dipswitch)

CheeziePotato @ Nov 28th 2009 11:54PM
I meant New Super Mariown Bros.

the toad with the knife is what got my vote

Went with The Great Outdoors this time. That one made me laugh.

*Indoors
Oops.
Special Agent Steve @ Nov 29th 2009 12:04AM
Yeah, you gotta be careful to not mix those two up.
The Great OUTDOORS is reserved for bear humping and bad films with Dan Aykroyd.
JerJer @ Nov 29th 2009 1:22AM
BEARFUCKER! do you need assistance??
Victor @ Nov 28th 2009 11:38PM
How do I get to be in the Weeky Webcomic Wrapup?
I sent a tip, but maybe my webcomic sucks too much? :P
Darth Bradwart, The Dark Lord of the Sith [ATDF Co-Founder] @ Nov 28th 2009 11:39PM
Post it here and we'll take a look. That's usually the way webcomics get picked up.
WiiFTW @ Nov 28th 2009 11:40PM
Post a link.

Alright... *anxious AND nervous AND feeling like a spammer*

I the one I sent the tip was http://www.its-a-me.com/?p=21 which is another one of those old and overused 'cake is a lie' jokes, but what the hell right? :P
I like criticism, but PLEASE be kind? :P
Darth Bradwart, The Dark Lord of the Sith [ATDF Co-Founder] @ Nov 28th 2009 11:46PM
Not bad. Perhaps a bit more dialogue?
The Dark Wayne [Planeteer: Power of the Batusi] ATDFs Financier and Batman @ Nov 28th 2009 11:47PM
you spelled customer wrong.
Victor @ Nov 28th 2009 11:50PM
That's my crappy english coming in, thank you for the correction!
Victor @ Nov 28th 2009 11:52PM
@Darth,
I'm scared of too much dialog :(
I thought it was a golden rule of webcomics or something like that. Or not.
Harbl @ Nov 29th 2009 4:12AM
Sprite comics are nothing new. Your comics are funny, you can write pretty well, but if you ever want to get noticed you gotta get a distinct look and pick up the pencil. Or find somebody to draw for you
Ghen @ Nov 29th 2009 12:12PM
It's a good start but definitely needs less frames and true drawings, forget sprite art.
Your other stuff has good style, but I didn't like the jokes :P
MrWeatherby @ Nov 29th 2009 5:06PM
It would help a lot if the text were large enough so I could actually read the comic. Might encourage me not to give up half way through. vOv
umm....hello??? @ Nov 28th 2009 11:43PM
New SMB this week....especially hilarious if you've played it with griefing tactics like they depict in the comic....
MystileArmor @ Nov 28th 2009 11:54PM
I thought the only one that kind of made me smile was the Mega Thanks one. I don't know, I think my sense of humor seems to differ quite a bit from most of the people here, since I hardly ever find any of them funny.
Darth Bradwart, The Dark Lord of the Sith [ATDF Co-Founder] @ Nov 28th 2009 11:56PM
It's not that I find any of them particularly funny, but I pick the one I expect to have elicited the best reaction if I was a normal person.
Occasionally, though, one makes me laugh out loud.
Darren @ Nov 28th 2009 11:57PM
Yeah, it's really awesome to have absolutely no way to submit gaming comics before the week's round-up.
Anyhow, these would have been my contributions:

And it's companion piece:

xkcd is in the running? Automatic vote.
Danzaiver @ Nov 29th 2009 9:44AM
Hell yeah!
bongoes Sector 2814 @ Nov 29th 2009 3:27PM
I vote for xkcd even when it's not in the running.
MrWeatherby @ Nov 29th 2009 12:14AM
I don't see "Assfuck Jamboree" on this list, I'm very dissapointed. >:(
Darth Bradwart, The Dark Lord of the Sith [ATDF Co-Founder] @ Nov 29th 2009 12:18AM
That's because this is the 'Weekly WEBCOMIC Wrapup', not the Weekly Porno Wrapup.
MrWeatherby @ Nov 29th 2009 12:19AM
Gee I wonder if I said that because it IS a WEEKLY WEBCOMIC, you colossal retard.

MrWeatherby @ Nov 29th 2009 12:37AM
Well can you blame me when it's a comment on Joystiq, a gaming blog, where the vast majority of users post some of the most revoltingly moronic shit?
Here is a helpful diagram since we're sharing:
(===(=(
That is a butt pooping a dick, which coincidentally is how most of the posts on Joystiq read.
Darth Bradwart, The Dark Lord of the Sith [ATDF Co-Founder] @ Nov 29th 2009 12:40AM
Didn't you make some homophobic jokes the other day? Doesn't that place you in that category as well?
If you don't like our elitist attitude, why stay here?
Special Agent Steve @ Nov 29th 2009 12:49AM
Holy shit this conversation is filed under the top ten weirdest things I've read on Joystiq.
Now all I need is a filing cabinet.
ChuckBartowski (ATDF Technical Consultant) @ Nov 29th 2009 12:50AM
"If you don't like our elitist attitude, why stay here?"
Comment of the year.
NervousXtian @ Nov 29th 2009 11:12AM
Because Joystiq doesn't belong to the idiots who post on every story with stupid comments to make themselves feel important to the 5 other people who actually think that it makes you cool to post on Joystiq blogs all day.
Darth Bradwart, The Dark Lord of the Sith [ATDF Co-Founder] @ Nov 29th 2009 11:41AM
What do you mean, doesn't make you cool?
the_pop @ Nov 29th 2009 2:08PM
HAY U GUISE ARE MORONS. U STUCK 3 CRAYONS UP UR NOSE BUT I HAVE ONLY STUCK WUN UP THAR. I SO MUCH SMARTER THAN U.
MrWeatherby @ Nov 29th 2009 5:22PM
I never said you guys were "elitist", I said the majority of you post like retards which quite frankly is the truth. Which is why I continue to come here, because posting off-hand joke comments about how Blizzard has a report on it's sexuality up it's butt results in a lot of hilarious responses from people who get easily offened.
:O====D
That is a diagram of a man vomiting a dick, which is how this conversation reads.

xkcd was the only one that was funny or made any sort of sense to me. Plus whenever xkcd is here its an automatic vote for me.
Lance Icarus @ Nov 29th 2009 12:43AM
I'm voting for xkcd solely because it taught me how to evade the Skifree Yeti. I feel like a new man!
Darth Bradwart, The Dark Lord of the Sith [ATDF Co-Founder] @ Nov 29th 2009 12:56AM
Okay, I'm assuming that I'm missing something with that one.
What are they referencing?
Darth Bradwart, The Dark Lord of the Sith [ATDF Co-Founder] @ Nov 29th 2009 12:57AM
Never mind.
This is why you don't make comments when you're half asleep.

Or holy shit, I feel old. :/
The Dark Wayne [Planeteer: Power of the Batusi] ATDFs Financier and Batman @ Nov 29th 2009 1:41AM
Oh my God skifree! I havent played that in hell, probably a dozen years! I always got killed by the monster!
JeezWhiz87 @ Nov 29th 2009 3:45AM
It's hard to win when you're playing in hell. I was always killed by the monster too.
Aerothorn @ Nov 29th 2009 5:42AM
Man, I thought we got to submit them or something? Because Gun Show Comic takes the cake this week:
http://www.gunshowcomic.com/d/20091128.html
Filthy Assistant @ Nov 29th 2009 9:10AM
yeah Gunshow is better than all of them.
Levi @ Nov 29th 2009 10:37AM
Hahahahah totally agree! That was far better than any of the webcomics this week. It made me laugh 3x, when they are lucky to get a chuckle out of me. The "hug the left wall" part was great. You guys see the "hang in there" poster? I'm gonna go back and favorite that one. Thx for the link.
Mr Mobius - the wandering artist @ Nov 29th 2009 11:49AM
It'd have got my vote this week. I guess it was the comics with Mario in it that did it. The rest of the comic was filler to make the Mario parts make sense. Mario dying and then going back to the castle was great.
Filthy Assistant @ Nov 29th 2009 9:12AM
Dammit Joystiq, we made a site just so you would accept our webcomic's submission! I'm gonna keep plugging it whenever the opportunity arises until you relent and realize our comic is at least as worthy as fuckin xkcd.
http://assfuckjamboree.site11.com/home.html
Enjoy~
