It appears that in addition to simply plugging bullets into the creatures, Ubisoft will also be allowing for some form of capture the flag (wait, isn't this about survival?). Other than that one crucial detail, the only info we gleaned from the multiplayer trailer above is that there'll be a ton of explosions, even more mid-air flip-kicks, and explosion/flip-kick-laden jungle combat when the game does finally come out. For now, unfortunately, you'll have to sate yourselves with something totally boring like Modern Warfare 2. Humans against humans? Pssshhht, that's so mid-November.

Way to chaotic with no control. They need to simplify from the looks of things. Maybe they just tried too hard to have action and explosions in the trailer... hopefully this is the case.

The demo was actually pretty impressive. Pretty standard 3rd person shooter but it plays in stereoscopic 3D, has 2 full campaigns (for each side), multiplayer, XP system, a Risk-type strategy game, and a full encyclopedia for all the life on Pandora.

Yeah I thought the PC demo wasn't too bad (I didn't get to try out the 3D though), it played like Lost Planet 2 only with better controls.
It seems like a decent rental. Or I would possibly pick it up on a Steam Sale once it hits 20.
The movie is a different story though, I saw a preview in 3D and it definitely opened my eyes. I am very hyped for it now.

The demo sold me. It was fun enough and I will admit playing in stereoscopic 3D blew me away and sealed the deal. I'm using nVidia 3D Vision and a CRT (Ordering a projector tho).

I almost feel sorry for Ubisoft. They are trying to push this so hard and it will inevitably tank.

Game looks meh and the movie looks like a 500 million dollar lame fest. I might check it out on DVD but no way will I waste $10 to go and sit in a theater to watch it. Great special effects and CGI dont make a movie great. This looks over hyped and itll probably bomb. But then again, sometimes people flock to see terrible movies.

It sounds too good to be true.
The game looks like a mix of Gears of War and Shadowrun.
The movie trailer looks decent, (a lot better than the KoF trailer) but that's not saying much.
WHAT AM I SUPPOSED TO BELIEVE?

I don't really want to fight against Kimahri and the other Ronsos, James Cameron is evil!

Thanks for the update about the game. I would like to say that it would be difficult for gamers to try any multiplayer that isn't Call of Duty or Halo.

It has multiplayer. That means it could develop a fanbase and grow from there. If games don't have multiplayer nowadays, they're dead on arrival. bayonetta, while pretty looking, has no multiplayer. its like a 5 hrs single player experience and its over. multiplayer would give it years of live.

the movie looks interesting but the game? meh.. adding multiplayer to new games is usually just another marketing bulletpoint to cover more box art real estate. id rather see a great single player with no multiplayer at all than another average game with sub par multiplayer.

The fact is this game could have all the bells, whistles, 3D graphics, complimentary bikini model drink servers with every purchase it likes, it still won't sell.
Games based around movies are always infamously awful and even if this one isn't, it still has to overcome that stigma before people will even take it seriously, (like reading it's reviews rather than taking a look at the metacritic score) let alone forking out the cash for a purchase.
The aftermath of MW2 is that the amount of people in the market for a shooter with a good multiplayer component has shrunk to the size of steroid ridden gonad. People won't be looking for anything new untill Feb/March of next year? By which time Bioshock 2 will be on the scene with it's fresh new multiplayer tagged onto what will likely be another of the great storyline based single player campaigns of the century.
There is no market for this game, it will tank, the only way it won't is if it is universally praised as the messiah of gaming, and to do that it will have to be better than MW2. Anyone want to take that bet? No? Didn't think so.

James Cameron is my favorite filmmaker ever, yet even I concede that "Avatar" could be the next Phantom Menace.
As for the game, if the movie underperforms like I think it will, so will the game.

Honestly, I don't know why devs even try. This is going to be just as disposable as anything that isn't Call of Duty or Halo.
