Bioshock 2 coming to Japan, courtesy of D3 Publisher
23
Good news, Japan! D3 Publisher is localizing Bioshock 2 for you and, this time around, you won't have to wait that long to get your ADAM-soaked hands on it. Andriasang reports D3 Publisher will release the 2K Marin, et al.–developed sequel sometime in early 2010 -- presumably close to the February 9 US release date. We just hope the new Japanese ad campaign dials back the completely frightening a bit.

"Japan gets everything except...No More Heroes 2."
Corrected.
All territories and consoles get exclusives. If somebody wants it enough, they can try importing (if it works).

One thing different from Bioshock 2 and Biohazards (Resident Evil)
bioshock 2 is published by D3, not Capcom. If Capcom publish Bioshock, that would confuse a lot of people. They would easily mistaken Bioshock for Biohazards. Beside, the first Bioshock did sell well in Japan (It got Platinum Collection in japan for 360, and Spike the best for PS3).

So D3 is publishing Bioshock 2 for Japan, huh.
I would've like Atlus or NIS in Japan to do that. I like to see these 2 companies bringing Western game to Japan for a change, Having a well known Japanese companies like Atlus and NIS publishing Western game could help make those game sell. Maybe they'll do it if Square Enix do a sucessful job getting Modern Warfare 2 selling in Japan. These 2 should learn from Square Enix, and Capcom. It may give Western game more appeal in Japan if they do that.
to Atlus: Why don't you pick up Borderlands. I'm sure that game will appeal to all gamers in Japan. Beside Borderlands is called RPS (Role Person Shooter) for a reason.
In other news: To make sure Bioshock 2 sale well in Japan, The little Sister will be design with Moe anime look to appeal the Japanese gamer, a person from D3 has said "the Little sister do look nice in the game, but we're worried it may not help sale the game. So we ask 2k game to let us give Little Sister a moe anime design. In Japan, people do love moe design, and don't worry we're not supporting lolicon or pedophillia in anyway". Also, D3 has stated that the commercial for Bioshock 2 will use anime and little sister to help increase it's appeal. D3 has also express interest that it should get a anime anthology adaptation in the style of Halo legends. (this is sarcasm, not real stuff. D3 will not make little sister into moe anime motif or will they if they ever read this).

Also D3 created this game, Dream Club (It's similar to Namco Bandai's Idolmaster series). I wonder if D3 can have the little Sister or maybe Big Sister have them look like Dream Club girls.

Talk about good cameo and good fanservice.

@michael:
Well he is not that far off. Taking the only source we have, vgchartz, Killzone 2 sold a total of 80.000, Bioshock less than 50.000 (on Xbox AND PS3 together) and Mass Effect a grand 30k. If they had done a full translation (including dubbing) they would probably have lost money on all 3 of these. Infamous seems to have a similar fate and only GTA ducks the trend slightly, by at least selling 400.000 units, although it seems to buck the trend of increasing sales over the years (the last 3,4 GTAs sold 400k - 500k).
