Is this game any good, I know I can always go to somewhere and watch a video about it, but I'd just like to know now. Is it a wannabe Ghost Recon? or what.

It's not a bad game. It's not Call of duty or wolfenstein but that's part of it's appeal. You're not going to be running around with a P90 spraying half a mag into a guy 5 feet from you. Most of the firing encounters I have in the game are 150 yards or more.

It bills itself as more of a "tactical simulation" than anything else. For instance. You get shot. In the odd chance it doesn't kill you outright you have a few problems. first you're gonna need to patch yourself up before you bleed out. Next if it's your arm, your aim is going to be effected. If it's your leg say goodbye to sprint.

But that's if you survive the shot in the first place. Just like you do to the enemy, one well placed shot to you and it's all over.

The thing I like is that at the extreme ranges you have to compensate for bullet drop. 800 yard shots you can actually see the rainbow arc your bullet takes. The maps are huge, the missions are pretty well done, only complaints I have about it is that the friendly AI is sometimes buggy. 4 Player co-op get's around this though.

Overall, a definite rental to see if it's up your alley. Definite buy if you like more realism than game.

I bought this game at launch, and it was the buggiest of messes I've ever played. I don't know if they've patched it, but I would advice even the most fanny of fans to stay away.

Also, CM lied to the fans about the game. It is NOT open world, it does not let you command 60 vehicles (more like 6, and you'd have to hijack them) and it does NOT give you the freedom to approach objectives any way you see fit.

During the weeks immediately after launch, the official CM forum was a raging tornado of angry and disappointed players. Thousands of posts complaining about the unplayability of the game and about being ripped off. Now those posts are erased, and all is good. Or is it? I'm sure thousands of gamers are boycotting CM from now on.

This game is such a joke. I tried to like it, but it was just too horrible. Good thing I rented it. If anyone wants a game that is what Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising should have been, they should check out ARMA2, if their PC can handle it.

Its a good game, if you put it onto the harder setting you dont get the stupid waypoints and you can do it your own way obv you have markers saying objective 1 and 2 but not the yellow ones telling you what route to take,

i know this is stupid but if you buy the 1st add-on you get open world day or night and a couple of more missions to play its pretty damn challanging and good

not really noticed glitches to be honest

oh only problem is i cannot for the live of me get onto a mp game which isnt Co-op :(

multiplayer modes for WHO? There is absolutely nobody online in this game.

CM FAILED to fix a bullet sponge glitch in which you can pump multiple mags into people online and they can turn around and kill YOUat the blink of an eye.

This is infuriating since the shooting takes time and skill, line up a 500 meter shot plug him in the head, see the blood slat, and he gets up an runs...realistic for the win!!!

Operation Flashpoint is a money scam by codemasters, they thought they would capitalize off of the name of the game, and what the franchise was...

Don't be fooled by the fans, in order to dodge a false advertisement suit, CM opened up the entire map...but there are no enemies in it...great idea. the original had a mission editor, they opted to scrap that in place of PAID DLC.

They use the same mission editor the pc version has to make DLC for us...a 2 minute process

They released this with a barge full of bugs and glitches, and in order to sell DLC they claim to "Patch" it. The last patch did nothing, I bought the DLC and sat refreshing the server list for minutes

nobody plays this trash anymore, and for good reasons, it's broken, and CM refuses to fix it...yet they have their hand out for money.

Well said mate, This game was a complete let down, truly a scam/bait and switch of information and using the name of a once honored franchise. I haven't played ARMA 2 but I've seen what I need to see. some say there may be some kind of Installment of ARMA that may come to 360 but I'll believe it when I see it on here.
