I don't know. A game based on the Prince of Persia movie? Do you think it will have the legs?

So after the last game ended in such an abrupt way with nothing resolved (the DLC epoligue just made it worse), they just abandon it?

As much as others hated that game I loved it. It was a game where the characters seemed real, which is hard to come by (thanks Nolan North!). I do hope to see that version of the Prince come back, but with sales as they were I can see where they'd want to pretend that the original trilogy wasn't a trilogy and go back to that world.

I too loved that game. In fact, if I had to pick a GOTY for 2008, that would definately make the list.

While I prefer the art style of the latest prince of persia game (its one of the few games I would describe as 'beautiful') I found it to be boring and not much fun. The platforming was OK if a little iffy and the controls seemed laggy.

You should give the epilogue a try. IT feels a lot less like a series of QTEs. They even made the combat better by adding a charge move to get in closer to your opponent, and a few other tweaks. The Epilogue DLC really shows that they've learned what they did wrong with the main game. (Which I really enjoyed anyway.)

Thanks I'll consider picking up the DLC sometime. There's just so many games to get right now it might be awhile, I still haven't even got Batman or Forza 3 yet:(

The 2008 Prince of Persia sucked worse than anything I've ever played. Thank god I bought it used so that I could return it after not even an hour of playing it. For me, the Prince of Persia trilogy is one of the greatest. I know that with the way it was ended, there really isn't much sense/room to continue, but I have faith and can't wait. And it won't have anything to do with the movie; they are just both coming out in May.

If God all of a sudden struck everyone and everything you loved with Super-AIDs, would you still have faith?

Sorry, just seems odd that after they create the worst game you've ever played, you'd still be faithful that they'll do right with the sequel.

First off, I said "god" not "God." Big difference. Second, I never said I had faith in anyone or anything. Maybe faith was a bad word. I have hope that this game will be good. Third, this isn't a sequel the 2008 game. Therefore, it's not the least bit odd that I have hope for the new game. Next time, actually read what was posted.

First, sorry... Didn't even notice you thank god. Was just commenting on your faith in Ubisoft Montreal.

Second, yes you did... You said you had faith that the new game can be good despite the previous iterations not leaving room for a sequel (in fewer words).

Third, I meant sequel in the sense that it is another iteration in a storied franchise, not sequel as in direct continuation *of the game I'm well aware isn't getting a sequel if you read my other posts*.

Next time, don't look too deeply into a comment that contains the term "Super AIDs."

"Thank god" is just a figure of speech; I don't actually do that. When I said I don't put my faith in anyone or anything, I meant anything as in a supernatural being. That's my fault that it wasn't that clear. Yes, I said that I have faith that it could be a good game even with the series ending. Like I said, I should have use the word "hope." And there's nothing wrong with having hope for a good sequel even though they did make a bad game in my opinion. I mean, in my opinion, Metallica made a shit album but I still had hope that their next one would be good; and it was. I'm not really getting why it's wrong or odd to hope for a good game just because they made one bad one. I mean, they did make three great ones first and they also made Assassin's Creed. If something doesn't make sense here, let me know because I'm not completely focused on this. And how did I look too deeply into your first comment? In sum, I have hope because they have made other great games and I know they are capable of making another one despite one bad game.

Pretty cool. "Hey dudes, no one liked that 2008 Prince of Persia so let's abandon it and go back to the Sands of time!"
They could at least release some new DLCs to it. Just to finish his story :(

Yeah, it's weird. It isn't that no one liked it either, it's that no one bought it. No one liked 50 Cent Bulletproof, but it more than made enough money for three sequels. I'm just crossing my fingers that it hasn't been abandoned entirely... =(

Maybe they'll do one year of "Sands of Time Prince", and the next year "Prince/Elika/Ormazd/Arhiman" games?

Nice use of the Gaussian blur effect on the logo shadow there, always nice to see. Will have taken upwards of 2 minutes to do.

I will buy this if it's similar to Sands of Time, and not stupid and casual like the 2008 one. To call that game easy is an offense to the word easy.

Yeah I'm all for not punishing the player too much but not being able to die kind of took out the fun and intensity of making jumps and climbing around. Now add in the combat....oh god....the combat! I cursed out loud when I saw I had to fight one of those stupid monsters.

Did you get the trophy for not being saved by Elika more than 100 times? If not, you died 100 times. It´s not that easy, they just replaced death with something else. Whenever you fall, you´ve failed.

(Not that the game could be described as difficult, anyway.)

I disagree, Roto. It's not that I didn't die a lot, it's that I didn't feel in the least bit worried about it. If you die and respawn 5 feet back, what's the point? There's practically no penalty whatsoever. The complete lack of pressure kinda ruined what would have otherwise been a great game.

...Or I'm a masochist.

Suddenly a magical portal opened and the prince could see an alternate reality in which people who looked like they were making a cameo were in, they randomly explained their life story starting from an arbitrary point which made no sense to the prince.

'I have closure' said the prince.
